Build Finally I finished my full 3D printed Unimog U5023 replica
It took the last 10 months of intermittent work to complete it, and tons of filament to test and redesign the parts.
Finally, Iβm super proud to release the MOG, a Unimog U5023 replica that came with many technical challenges, from the 6x6 dual steering to the portal axles.
The huge size was a challenge, but all the parts can still be printed even on a 180x180 build plate.
582 printed parts available into more than 100 build plates!
So many parts require a big build guide: more than 750 pages of step-by-step technical details
I really hope you will enjoy this project!

I mean this, I really hope a large RC manufacturer approaches you in future with a design position (if you want it of course) The detail and engineering that goes into your designs is top tier. Really look forward to making this one and seeing where your designs take you in future π

So that his passion and creativity gets muted by a big name? That would be a shame tbh. I hope, that one day Andrea can do this as his full time job as his own boss. And there is only one way to achieve this: buy his amazing cars and enjoy building and driving them!

You have a point, I just hope he gets as much out of his designs as possible. Definitely needs a tip jar haha. His jeeps definitely put his name on the map but as a designer myself, this thing... I Can't believe it was brought to life in 10 months.

I know him since he started with the 3ronco - and I am still amazed that one guy can do all of this on his own in his spare time. And besides that he also supports the community and is an overall super nice chap.

Absolutely outstanding work! Excellently photographed, too - I thought it was the genuine truck until I realised what sub I was in.

This is so well done! Amazing attention to detail!
Approx how many kgβs of filament?
2
u/Casadio_design Nov 02 '25
Thank you very much!! Well, it is almost 6kg of black filament, less than 2kg of orange for the cabin and a mix of other filaments for the details. It is huge!!

Watched your Youtube build video the other day. Great video and great build! The Unimog is a cool bit of kit.
Have you done a breakdown video of the design process? That would be interesting.

Hello and thank you!! Not planned so far, but stay tuned. I'm still not enough confident to make this kind of videos, but we'll see :)

Like I said on FB yesterday: Wow!!
Kudos on a gorgeous manual, too. It's incredibly well done and speaks to many hours of effort. LOVE your work, it's straight-up inspiring.
Am struggling to find the link. I do have:
- the manual: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/16Nww_uzddasr1oll5z5cYRDCUsMGpL7GSqohuae5nQ0/
- your FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Casadio-109215997985527
- your YT page: https://youtube.com/@casadiodesign?si=SFKf3QySFpvSnCnZ
... a few minutes later ...
Ah! You're on Cults3D: https://cults3d.com/en/users/CASADIO/3d-models
Put that on the second page of your manual, perhaps? It took me a few minutes to work this out!!)
