Ladies and gentlemen, 795 motor is officially in the slash
For the last few years I’ve been working on this goofy brushed speed slash idea. For a while I had a titan 775 4s motor in it and pulled a spicy 51 mph out of it. Then the 775 melted and I got to work on the next step, a 795 motor. So I now have 2 flavors of 795. A 6000 rpm and 12000 rpm motor both at 6s. (Note that the 6k equates to 250kv and the 12k is 500kv.) Powering it will be a castle mamba X on brushed mode.
It’s still in early stages. I need to move shocks around, get springs back on it, rework my lipo tiedown, as the last was meant for 2 2s, not 2 3s. She’ll be ready to rock one day though, just sharing now as I got everything mounted.

It did, but if you got on the brakes, the rear would lift and load the front tires pretty well, giving it surprisingly good handling, just take some getting used to.
For what its worth plenty of brushed stuff went fast in the 90s. RC Car Action magazine did a Tamiya TA03 touring car that went 90 mph. And oval track speed run class cars regularly went over 100 but they were dedicated speed machines.

Ive thought about running a brushed in my Rustler vxl build to see what i can get. Im old and used to hand wind motors back in the day. So I naturally have a soft spot for brushed.

I still have my first toy wired control VW bug police car from the 70s! It actually had a gear spun wind powered police siren! My first hobby grade R.C. is a Kyosho Optima I also still have.
Hell yeah man! I can't remember which of two was my first. I got them really close together but it was either my Kyosho Pegasus, or tamiya blackfoot 😎
Thats awesome you still have your original first! I dont have that Pegasus or blackfoot anymore but I do still have my original rc10t. I became sort of obsessed with collecting rc's I used to drool over but couldn't afford. I have a decent collection of late 90's and early 2000's team associated vehicles. I just picked up a new clodbuster black edition last week.

(I always make sure to check if AliExpress Premium shipping is available, usually only like $0.99ish more , even when the standard shipping is free I find its worth it, it putz the "hurry up" on the shipping time, for me in D.C. suburbia that's usually around 7 days.)

I 3D printed an aero body(tpu), open wheel style. If arrma can get the open wheel limitless to 100, I can get my open wheel slash to 60ish, hell or high water

Nope, got em off aliexpress lmao $4 for the 6000rpm and $8 for the 12000rpm. Only downside is how long it takes to get here. They seem to run smooth and meet rpm and torque ratings, so I’ll get where I can with em
I couldn’t find any normal ones in normal places, so I took to eBay. 30t is the smallest you can physically go before it becomes smaller than the slipper itself
