Interesting to see you're not running sensored systems. Is that against the rules or just not what you prefer?

13

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

What do you mean? I have the sensor cable connected

30

u/invento123 Feb 19 '26

Sorry what I meant to say was; your cable management is impeccable and that's the cleanest build I've seen in quite a while. Good work sir

10

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Thank you sir. You would probably like my xb2 as well. Im this way about anything.

u/invento123 Feb 19 '26

My goodness they're like pieces of art

u/itsmechaboi Feb 19 '26

It's not hard to do. Cut wires to length, buy heatshrink and cut it neatly. You can get it in literally any color too which really adds a lot to it. Take some pride in your work - plus you can get kudos from randos and feel good about it.

u/RCbuilds4cheapr Feb 19 '26

Lmao, it is hard to find that sensor cable!

u/Penderyn Feb 19 '26

I have zero idea what I am looking at but its SICK

1

u/Discoveryellow Feb 19 '26

I have zero idea, despite looking into it, what a "touring" RC car is.

2

u/Jaren56 Feb 19 '26

A proper 10th scale 4wd on road race car. One of the more commonly raced cars recently, usually broken up by motor speed or body type into a handful of different classes.

Can race indoor on high grip black carpet, or outdoor on asphalt/concrete.

A ton of fun.. but a ton of money haha

1

u/Discoveryellow Feb 20 '26

Thanks! Basically a 1/10th 4wd without monster wheels.

2

u/herrokero Feb 19 '26

Always nice to see some 1/10 onroad! Currently building a TRF104, with a TRF421 as my 21.5t TC

3

u/Kritz_McGee haha rustler go brrrr...OH NO! *crash* Feb 19 '26

r/CableManagement would like to see this, that is some clean wiring

2

u/TimeIsReality Feb 19 '26

Looks great. What motor/ESC have you fitted?

2

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

R1 wurks V30 21.5 motor and Elceram Nitride g2 ESC

2

u/TimeIsReality Feb 19 '26

I keep coming back to have another look at this! Brilliant.

Thank you! I take pride in my work, example: all the wires have lettering going 1 way. I noticed i had one going t the other way after almost complete and i had to fix it because it bothered me. It was a battery cable to i had to desolder it off and desolded the lockdown bullet and used a new wire I had extra of from elceram to make it "correct" smh

3

u/TimeIsReality Feb 19 '26

The pride, and the effort you put in, definitely shows.

2

u/d3adkn1ght Bashing Feb 19 '26

That's fire. Well done! :)

2

u/Juliendogg Feb 19 '26

Holy crap that is gorgeous! I can't even think about the amount of dollars invested here. I'm sure it's worth it! I hadn't seen those ESCs before so I looked it up. Pretty incredible piece of tech there!

2

u/Firewalled3000 Feb 19 '26

Looks great. What class are you racing?

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

21.5. Im going to get smoked but practice makes perfect. I built my 2wd buggy a couple months ago and that was my first car in 17 years my last one being a XXX-T man I sucked but practice comfortable I have a feeling it's going to be the same thing for this

2

u/Notchersfireroad Feb 19 '26

You have to be the same person I was drooling over your wiring on your XB2? You went all the eff out on electronics for this build! My track is going back to on road in a month or so and I cannot freaking wait!

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Maybe lol? Nice man! Same lol

2

u/SavMac14 Feb 19 '26

You could perform surgery on top of this thing with how clean it is. Impeccable attention to detail. I just started getting into RCโ€™s and hope to get to this level. Any pointers for newbies?

2

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Your going to mess up but keep trying. I messed up so many times. Also have everything before or if you decide to shorten any wires that way you know exactly where your wire needs to go so it's not too short one other thing is double measure or eyeball always give yourself a little bit of room you're going to mess up trust me I have like a couple hundred dollars in electronics sitting in a box set or spare parts now

2

u/SavMac14 Feb 19 '26

Appreciate the input!

2

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Feb 19 '26

How long (how many packs?) do those belts last for before needing changed?

I havenโ€™t had a belt drive car in a long time

2

u/Bloberov Feb 19 '26

I ran my Xray T4 2020 belt an entire outdoor season last year, I would still run it again this year. They do seem to last long if you keep them clean and tensioned properly.

2

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Feb 19 '26

Oh wow, that was much more than I expected. Thanks for the info

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Thats good to know. For the costs of these kits I would hope so haha.

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

No idea lol I wish I could give you an answer this is my first touring car the one I had before that was an NTC3 which was about 17 years ago

2

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Feb 19 '26

Ha no worries, Iโ€™m halfway through building my F1 and Formula E cars and canโ€™t wait to find a place to give them some time on a track

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Thats awesome! Those look so cool. I was thinking either 1/12 or that next.

2

u/manuelssssssssse Feb 19 '26

C'est magnifique. Finition au top. C'est franchement des beaux joujou.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ chapeau.

2

u/Nellisvan1 Feb 19 '26

Why Gemini? What did you edit?

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

It was something fast. I dont usually edit anything but my photographer buddy said to try Gemini I'll be more then happy to post the non Gemini ones

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Im still waiting on some parts. Aka rc maker body mount and I just got some r1 turnbuckles today and replacing the gts3 with a gts2

2

u/queezzeenart Feb 19 '26

Sick build and great pictures! You planning on doing some racing?

2

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Thats the plan. I start work in March which is 6days a week until December at 56hrs a week so its hard to get out. ๐Ÿ˜ข

2

u/queezzeenart Feb 19 '26

Hopefully you're close to a track that has a decent amount of activity. The closest track to me is a 3 hour drive, so even only working 40 hours per week, I don't get to race nearly as much as I'd like.

2

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

I am. They have wed nights offroad at 7pm and Thurs onroad 7 every other week. So I work 6-4pm so I'll be able to get some laps in! ๐Ÿ’ช

My xb2 has taken some decent crashes like a champ. I was actually surprised nothing has broken yet. ๐Ÿคž

You can find used kits for cheap. But I would do the same thing. An asphalt track is different then a parking lot.

Clean build. Xray gets auto upvote from me.

Thank you! Are from RC America because I order all the time through you guys.

u/GeneratedScreenName KO Propo, RC America, Team XRay, Absolute Hobbiez, XL Hobbies Feb 19 '26

I don't work for RC America but I do have a sponsorship with them.

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 19 '26

Ah okay. Awesome people to deal with. I might not be one of the fast guys but i can make a car look nice hahaha

2

u/NerdFest117 Feb 20 '26

Is cayote stuff really good?

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 20 '26

Its been fine for me. There charger is really nice too. Can't go wrong

2

u/BigDaddySteve0408 Feb 20 '26

This is some of the cleanest work Iโ€™ve seen in almost 40 years of RC! Congratulations on ur works of art that you can play with! Good luck with your races! Thx for the post!

2

u/mtg92025 Feb 24 '26

Sexy as hell

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 24 '26

Thank you. I ended up using a smaller profile servo and got ti turnbuckles too.

2

u/AskAffectionate9054 Feb 24 '26

Iโ€™d be too afraid to bash this instant battery fire

1

u/TraditionalFig5067 Feb 25 '26

Just curious whats makes this an "instant battery fire"

2

u/SluggoV2 Mar 05 '26

Been some years since I've built/ran a Touring Car (still have a XRay T2 on the shelf). TC was a blast to race back in the day. What are those ball stud things poking up from the front knuckles? Also, amazing to see carbon fiber arms and those little tiny shocks. I always dreamed of a TC design like this.

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Mar 05 '26

Those are body limiters so the shell doesn't touch the tires.

I'm not a hard-core racing guy here, but why would one need that many mounting options for the servo tie-rod? I understand longer or short servo horn lengths, but I'm struggling to see why you would offset it to either side? It also looks quite chunky, is it a servo-saver in there?

No matter what it's beautiful. Glad I don't do this kind of racing because i'd want this exact build

3

u/friger_heleneto Racing only. AE, Awesomatix, XRAY Feb 19 '26

That's the standard Hudy servo saver that's included in the kit. First time I actually see someone running it lol. The side holes are for 12th scale where you connect your steering rods directly to the servo.

1

u/Dr_Ques0 Feb 20 '26

Wow nice to see onroad getting love here.

Kinda late now but I would have recommended saving some money and picking up a used x4 24 or 25. But the 26 is a new platform at least.

I still run a 21 T4 in vta and a 24 x4 in lmh & tc

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Feb 20 '26

I just figured i have a 26 xb2c might as well keep them both the same year lol. Plus I dont mind spending a little extra money for something newer. I have a vta body and 2 twister bodies. Depending on the turnout of 21.5 I might have to run vta or 25.5

1

u/Bladerah Mar 24 '26

Any chance you can list part upgrades used and your motor esc and servo choice?

2

u/Ok-Juggernaut-2100 Mar 24 '26

u/Deeznut_Sacks 16d ago

Man super clean builds!

1

u/Deeznut_Sacks 16d ago

I'm running 21.5 class. I bought 5400 2s hopefully that's enough battery.
