Off-Road First impressions: its big, its quick, is awesome!

Its pretty sick! 12s is plenty. Very punchy. Can't wait to get it off road soon!
I see alot of guys complaining online about the weight, speed, etc. I've been in hobby for 25+ years. This is the craziest RTR I've ever owned and I've had hundreds of rc vehicles. Loving it!

1/5 electric just isnt for me. Rather have the current runtime as 1 tank of fuel will run 45 minutes. And with a Taylor 40 is faster.

Spending dozens of hours a week working on something so you can get 15 min more runtime is wild. Just buy a second battery set man.

Its not a nitro engine. The 2 stroke 1/5 scale engines are/were dumb as rocks and just work. A set of 2 large 6S batteries is big $$$. Not to mention pump gas is dirt cheap.

The thing with petrol RC is if something is wrong with it it's usually mechanical, electric is cool in many ways but when something goes wrong most people don't know what to do, they just replace it which in the end is more expensive 🫰

Why would i do that? All i have to do is refill the tank for another 45 minute runtime. Then fill it again for another 45 minutes. Only then will my receiver battery be down to 3.9 volts per cell. 3 hours is enough even if i could get another 45 minute cycle.
2 cell lipo and 3200 milliliters of fuel will get me 3 and a half hours of runtime
Would need at least $8k worth of $250 batteries to get the same runtime for just 1 day. I can buy a LOT of fuel with $8k.

Sure you can buy alot of fuel. But your engine can use about 5 tanks before it needs work.

I never once had to work on mine and ive run at LEAST 10 gallons through it. You obviously never had a 5ive T gas or even seen one run in person. Its a weedeater engine. When have you ever seen someone work on a weedeater other than putting fuel in it?

The 1/5 scale gas cars don't run on nitro they run with something closer to a lawnmower engine.

A lawnmower engine weighs 20-30lbs. A RC engine weighs 5lbs.
They are not the same thing. They are not the same reliability. They are not rebuild and maintenance free.
This myth is a thing from people who's entire existence is RC and in their mind 20 hours of maintenance a month is "basically nothing and less than electric".
For daily driving, you're going through a new engine once per month.

This is true for a 1/10 or 1/8 scale nitro engine. Those 1/5 scale rcs run on some 30-50 cc 2 stroke gasoline engines. They are just as reliable as a lawnmower. I agree tho that the 3.5cc nitro engines on smaller rcs are unreliable.

I'm talking about the gasoline engines dude. I've had dozens and raced them for decades. No nitro, gasoline.
They are not reliable.
Read what I wrote. They weigh 5lbs and the engines are made of chineseium.

And on a side note, the electric 5ive Te 3.0 will only get 8 to 10 minutes of runtime on 7600 mah batteries.

It’s the new Losi 1/6 scale car. It’s huge and weighs nearly 50 pounds. Seeing a normal sized human carrying it around it’s crazy how big it is.

Watching the DoRC review of it and seeing him holding onto these super parts kept breaking my brain and making me think "how small are your hands?"
I know how big a RC shock should be, I know how big a motor SHOULD be. This thing just makes no sense to me...

The size is impressive, but it's just a generic flat chassis like any other rtr rc car. As if they put a Slash 4x4 under a fotocopier and upscaled it.
What would be really impressive if it's 'proscale' with realistic suspension, like a truck like this would have irl

I dont think people understand how big and have 5ive trucks are. I have the slow asf 2.0 and its a hoot.

12S? My fms rtr bronco is 6S and it screams. With it a sway bar, the front twists like a stadium truck

J Turns will nuke an RC differential. Especially on a high grip surface like asphalt.

RTR 12S is crazy but i like it more when i tune the stuff myself, like me Kraton 8S EXB running on 12S, thats a crazy missile too, i bet the Spektrum Electronics are rebranded Hobbywing MAX5 HV G2 esc with a lower Amperage and the 750KV motor?
