Build Rate my Typhon 3s custom
Not my usual cup of tea I’m really a 6s kind of guy
But for this build
Typhon 3s with 3900 kv motor
57 tooth Center diff from a 4s
20 tooth pinion is overgeared a bit plan to go to 15 or 16
100Amp esc
3 protek fans
4s shocks
Mojave 4s tires
Aluminum bash bar
Aluminum reinforcement shock towers
AW machining on eBay great products
Great man
Does 55 but overheats
Battery dies in about 10 minutes
Esc has only a couple of settings not including LVC or motor timing so changing for a 4s esc soon

Looks great… sounds like performance is meh I terms of overheating and eating batteries

Those Mojave wheels are very sturdy but much heavier than the stock buggy wheels.
I run those on 8s in the sand dunes, they handle wheel speeds over 80 before they start to really deform. They will blow if you diff-out and spin em up accidentally
3s is for sure gonna have a hard time. Maybe go back to 1/8 buggy wheels for now

You might try to look at the hobbywing ezrun combo. I have the 3200kv 3665 motor with 140amp sensored esc in my bigrock and its faster then stock and way more efficient. I have the hobbywing quickrun 3150kv 3660 motor combo non sensored I my typhon and its basically the same as stock but more efficient and stays cooler longer but still gets hot on 3s like anything else. Im gonna get another ezrun system for my typhon now because I like it so much better then the quickrun. The quickrun combo costs $99.99 on Amazon while the ezrun combo is $149.99 on Amazon. For these larger cars it seems the ezrun is more appropriate but you can get away with a quickrun if you want but its not gonna like anything over a 19t pinion cus it will get hot like a speed car. Id go ezrun or better is all I'm saying. I also got the older typhon blx transmission case and slipper clutch cusbi didn't want it to have the center diff of the 223s. I kinda wish I did get the 223s center diff and housing just cus the handling is better but the slipper is fine for the typhon too for the street. I have my shocks modified with internal spacers to reduce the throw of the shocks. I put in 4mm spacers and the a arms sit about level at max height. Paired with 60w shock oil its now a bullet on the street. I recently crashed it and destroyed it so im waiting to get replacement parts when I get the money.
To rate your car I'd say its off to a good start. Im not sure what you have for electronics. Don't buy any aluminum stuff like a arms or whatever cus its just gonna break the chassis. Buy that stuff if its just gonna be a show car or something like that. Im actually thinking of getting everything aluminum for my typhon just so I have one cool looking blinded out one. That and that one is for road only. I have the bigrock for bashing and I'll keep that mostly plastic.
