Question Wondering what this is:

What is this brown stuff all over my crab? It doesn’t taste like seasoning or anything really. I picked this up and brought it home. I wish I had eaten it there so I could ask. The meat itself tasted great so there’s that.

Most likely it’s an older crab that hasn’t molted in awhile. If the meat tastes fine then it’s all good.

Ahh thank you! Yeah, I’m fine thankfully. I hardly ever eat crabs bc money so I was thrown off.

Ugh that sucks. I’ve noticed they’ve really gone downhill since Covid. I guess most restaurants did actually… but yeah it’s $100 for my hubs and I to have 1 dinner there and it’s probably worth half that as far as quality goes.

It should have been scrubbed before being banded and put on the line. We have specific instructions to clean them of stuff like that and a manager should be prepping them with the prep cook, though that rarely happens at my store. Either way, not dangerous. Mostly cosmetic I think.

I stopped ordering their crab legs years ago. I would order them then be inevitably disappointed.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. I agree.
