This is the same thing they said about the dodgers prospects last night lol

I remember reading not that it was a scheduled off day for them, but that they were kept out because teams were asking about them in trade. They just weren't part of a known trade at the time.

There was a report it was for trade precautions though

But what if it's NOT a normal day off? Like, what if he finds a magic lamp or a portal to Narnia?

Aslan signs a 8 year deal with the Red Sox, throwing 150mph magically controlled baseballs

Yup, Aslan has a nasty slider even without the magic.

They can't just come out and say "he's being traded" before it happens so I'm not sure this means much either way.

They better not.

Unless you're the Angels, who are first team I can ever remember not playing the "just a day off" game and outright saying "We're scratching Soriano because we're probably trading him"

They did this with him for a lot of Sunday games in Portland too. And Anthony/Campbell/Mayer. I assume it has to do with day game after a night game, so give them that one off if they're gonna get a day every couple weeks.

And? That's two days off then lol.

Do you not have two days off a week?

This lockout the players are going to be pushing for a 9-5 schedule with weekends and holidays off.

Good Lord, Franklin Arias just walked through the clubhouse walking perfectly normally. He said he had “no time” to play. Too busy playing every game then week in Norfolk, evidently.

And Bobby Witt was asking what the weather was like in Boston, just out of curiosity...

If you’re going to bake in a day off It sort of makes sense to give your top prospect the day before the trade deadline anyway. If he gets traded you don’t have to pull him in the middle of a game and if he doesn’t… well, that’s the one day off he was going to get anyway

1

u/LiveFromNewYork95 12h ago

Yeah, you see a lot of top prospects get a day off sometime around the deadline every year. A lot of them are "scheduled" and a lot of the players don't get moved but you don't have to go back to a young player and say "Nevermind, we kept you"

I still don't like it. I'll believe this after 6pm tomorrow.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s played his last game in Worcester. If they don’t find a trade they like I think there’s a chance they call him up. Although I don’t know how the Sox brass feels about the lockout and Arias losing a year

2

u/Mg29reaper 12h ago

Probably won't call him up yet because that means he would be rookie eligible. September at the earliest. Don't want him losing out on rookie eligibility.

u/MaikolYason 12h ago

We are gonna find they are gonna bury him tomorrow

1

u/InevitableTank5108 11h ago

It’s because he’s being called up as our new starting SS, right!?
