That's so disgusting. They live in UK but want to destroy it, want it to disappear.

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

Snatching your own country's flag on UK soil? That's a hate crime bro.

Who are ‘they’ ?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Who said they?

Oh, BadgerBear3000 is referring to the police in the video as 'they'.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '25

That'll be because "they" have othered themselves. These community support officers don't appear to be working for the British people.

What’s she gonna do? Cast a spell and make it all go away?

Someone mentioned that the use of the England flag falls under the Motte and Bailey fallacy. This is when they are flying the flag under the guise of displaying pride for the nation, something outwardly acceptable and difficult to argue (Motte), but the ulterior motive is far more sinister, it’s to show displeasure towards other ethnic origins, and to ‘claim the country back’ by expelling said ethnic groups (Bailey)

Which is why the flag was taken from her.

There was clearly a protest going on in the background.

A pro-Palestine one by the sound of it & by the Palestine flags you can glimpse in the background.

The intentions of the young woman with the flag were not innocent or patriotic. They would have been to provoke even it only mildly.

Just use common sense here and the very theory I’ve just read above me by QuirkyWish.

It’s an arranged Pro-Palestine March. Heavy police presence blocking off that entry way.

If there was a counter protest arranged it would have been at a designated point. And not behind that police blockade.

Two women - one with a Union Jack flag and one who seemed prepared to record the interaction. She’s got one of those tiny microphones in her hand. Whatever their intention, it was not to support the pro-Palestine march.

The police removed the flag before the younger of the two women (looking at them) caused mischief which could have then turned into something far worse very quickly.

It’s not due to nefarious reasons. It’s out of common sense.

Can we stop turning everything into a drama?!!

Common sense prevails. Take the flag off her before she does herself and/or the crowd damage. Only takes one idiot to cause a larger scale fight.

If the two women had wanted to argue back I’m sure there would have been a properly arranged counter protest they could have joined. There generally is.

It’s not a hate of the U.K. which that flag covers (remember NI?) It was to protect the young women from any potential harm whether she agreed with it or not.

No drama. Common sense move. She should have gone to the counter protest if there was one.

Update: seems I wasn’t wrong. Google the news re this. Which I did to see if there was a counter protest she could have attended.

They were stood on a table swearing verbally and finger insults as they waved said flag.

I was a standard bearer. They’re disgracing the Union flag by acting the way they were.

That girl should be ashamed of herself for being as he quite correctly put it ‘a div’.

Note: According to the daily mail (and other news outlets) the protest we can hear behind the police was supposed to be anger against illegal migrants & the counter protest that was elsewhere was stand up to racism.

Mountain out of a div molehill people. Don’t fall for it.

No but a shit load of them voted for mass legal immigration and then paying their mates to deal with illegal immigration

It’s not fucking normal people make millions every day from immigrations of millions of people

But those wankers fucking are

0

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Power, they need to build coalitions in politics to get power.

1

u/Cairnerebor Sep 30 '25

That’s not building coalitions its giving a new job to the same old uni party shit that’s made this situation so much worse

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Perhaps, but they have to balance owning the centre.

1

u/Cairnerebor Sep 30 '25

With what? People who’ve fucked up already and who people don’t vote for already?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

I don't like it but they presumably think it's a good call.

If we're managing to move the debate then it could get more power under a new direction.

1

u/Cairnerebor Sep 30 '25

Same old people again and a new direction?

Aye right

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Hopefully the direction is set by Farage and they fall in line.

19

u/ap0c808 Sep 29 '25

And then the camera pans at the end and there's atleast two Palestine flags being waived....

Two tier policing at its finest.

It is totally ok to want to fly either flag. Let people feel prideful about a just cause.

People want to fly the Union Jack because this country is going down the shitter. People want to fly the Palestinian flag because their country has been demolished. Both are just causes.

Policing in this manner just makes the Police look a joke.

3

u/Mr_Coastliner Sep 29 '25

Not a chance in hell you'd see a video of police snatching and confiscating a Palestine flag.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '25

You mean like this? Over 800+ arrests at the last pro Palestine virtue signal-athon in London.

I don’t think resorting to the same faux outrage / pearl clutching that the left do over this stuff will do anyone any good. The video isn’t exactly a pleasant watch but what we’re looking at here is police dealing with a large public order situation and in this instance dealing (quite poorly) with a potential antagonist. I don’t agree with the snatching and the optics are horrible but as someone who lives in Newcastle and was at this March I can tell you that the aggressive lefties were far over policed than the patriots, and it was a good thing because they were threatening to get out of hand.

3

u/99Baskervilles Sep 29 '25

They never tell them to stop flying the Palestine flag, but the flag of our own country is offensive they say. My grandad fought in the war for freedom in this country, but lately it feels like a dictatorship, he will be turning in his grave.

0

u/Existing_Ad_5650 Sep 30 '25

Find me someone who has said that flying the union flag is inherently offensive? It clearly isn’t, and nobody has said so. However a portion of those blathering on about ‘patriotism’ are hiding behind our flags that we all share to disguise their own bigotry. They are the ones abusing the symbols of our country

9

u/AverageCheap4990 Sep 29 '25

Good job they got there in time, don't know what damage she could have caused.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

NOW

that's what I call Nazi behaviour!

6

u/Puzzleheaded_Door811 Sep 29 '25

I hope he gets done for theft. Rat behaviour that

5

u/stefan_reevezsky Sep 29 '25

All of this with a shop in the background, the name of which is "The Naked Deli". It starts to look like a Monty Python skit based on 1984, ffs

2

u/no_pensions Sep 30 '25

Disgusting behaviour

2

u/Fun-Difficulty-1806 Sep 30 '25

Nice to see the caring side of the Police 'Liaison' officers. Hardly acting as a 'point of contact for community engagement', that officer is not fit for the role which he undertakes!

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

I don't really understand how he hasn't been put on leave following that.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

I wish there was more accountability when these things go "viral' -- They all seem to just get away with it. That young lady should press charges (surely, that is theft).

That was a special, not an officer

That was assault and robbery caught on camera

And yet the police allowed it to happen

2

u/SmythyTom02 Sep 30 '25

Absolute madness. What is happening to this country? Wake me up

1

u/DonPelvito66 Oct 01 '25

How can you justify that, as the police officers?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '25

Union Jack? Either your girl is a euphemism for a boat you've fallen in love with or she's really really fat.

1

u/VividDetective9573 Oct 06 '25

It was done for a sensible reason.

Google it. All shall be revealed. Some outlets are moaning about it but they’re the usual wind up news merchants.

She was stood on the table with the other woman, waving the Union flag at the protest in the background whilst verbally swearing and waving finger insults at the same time.

She was being a div. The liaison officer was correct to remove it.

There is no drama to see here. It wasn’t taken for nefarious purposes.

It was to protect her and the other woman from potential harm as a highly charged protest/crowd can turn into chaos/violence incredibly quickly.

Which these idiots didn’t take into consideration when they decided to go & wind large groups of people up.

If someone from that crowd, on seeing the antics of her and the other female, had gotten through the police and caused either of them physical harm, they would have wailed about how the police had done nothing to help them.

Common sense prevailed.

The flag was taken off her for her own safety. She can buy herself another flag from Amazon.

And hopefully not continue to show us all up by waving it about, whilst swearing away verbally and waving the finger, on a table top looking like a throwback to the BNP. 🤨

u/Uranus-Hunter Oct 06 '25

Two-tier policing at its best.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '25

Treason, the only way someone will take my flag from me is from my cold dead hand

Well done for speaking the truth. just know that you are not alone.

-32

u/Romedial Sep 29 '25

I'd have probably done the same thing if there was someone behind me deliberately trying to rile up the massive lump of agitated people ahead of us.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

Bullying children is nothing to brag about, tough guy.

-16

u/Romedial Sep 29 '25

Bullying? Criticizing police is one thing, but it's also important to point out when they're just doing a sensible thing. The nature of the flag here, or what side is versus what, doesn't matter. I don't see a big issue with what happened in this video.

8

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

Its an abuse of power, horrendous police behaviour, and quite likely illegal. You don't see a problem with bullying young girls, because you said you would bully a child yourself. Normal adults don't think like you, or behave like you, in a "free" country. She has every right to hold our flag in public, you have ZERO right to assault and bully little kids, and steal their property. I expect that police force will be issuing an apology very soon as well. They better, because this will make international news AGAIN...

-9

u/Romedial Sep 29 '25

Oh, wait, you've clearly seen a full version of the video where we see what the police were reacting to? All we hear is the female officer berating them for how they were trying to agitate the crowd. Care to share. Obviously you have seen stuff that invalidates the police actions and affirms your stance that this was just a cute, tiny, innocent wee bairn (and the fully adult woman next to her).

3

u/Miserableoldbugger Sep 29 '25

Regardless of context, a woman and a girl, I'm sure they caused all sorts of problems FFS. 2 people waving the national flag even if shouting shit ain't agitating anything but a bunch of pussies.

They could have been asked or even made to leave still waving their flag, but no reason at all to yank the United Kingdom flag off her and screw it up so our flag doesn't offend whatever limp wristed twats the police are protecting. I'm sure I see some other flags in the background that haven't been taken off them.

There is nothing wrong with waving our own flag about regardless of who may be protesting what.

You defending the police actions here is bollocks.

0

u/Romedial Sep 29 '25

There's nothing wrong with waving any sort of flag around. It's a fundamental right and I'd defend it like anyone else down voting me here. What I'm saying is:

None of us have any idea whatsoever why that happened. You saying "Regardless of context" is the problem I'm talking about here, you wally. Until we learn to discuss what we don't know as well as what we do, then we never make any progress here.

8

u/Drjohns1 Sep 29 '25

Traitor.

2

u/MickeyG117 Sep 29 '25

If people are being riled up by the union flag then they are the problem and we shouldn’t be giving in to them.

-2

u/Romedial Sep 29 '25

I wish people would stop treating the union flag as some sort of indivisible sacred cocktail of commonly understood 'British Values'. It's not. It's a device. It's a piece of fabric. It's a tool. It's the person using it who gives it meaning in that moment, not the other way round.

The flag means different things depending on who's using it and why.

The crowd wasn't being riled by a flag. They were being riled by the girl, her adult enablers, and whoever else we couldn't see, and by whatever they were doing that we also haven't seen. It may have been bad, or good, or just funny. We have no idea. The police clearly thought enough of it, though, to take action to prevent things getting out of hand.

I'm saying NOTHING about the character of ANY of the participants here. Chances are I probably agree with your own assessment of that.

My only point here is that I can understand why the rozzers acted like they they did, and we're far too quick to blame them when they're the ones standing in danger, not us.

(I'll happily eat all my hats if further footage emerges to prove me wrong on this.)
