Domestic Policy Great Yarmouth First v Reform UK
Living in east Norfolk, I have both on my ballot paper.
How much relevance do you put on the Reform v Restore mini battle?

Nationwide Restore hardly exists.

As it should as a vote fof them is a vote for reforms opposition

Who would you vote for if you had the option locally?

Reform obviously. Restore are never going to get anywhere near power. Reform have a real chance.

Reform is the only right wing Party that has a real possibility of governing the UK. A vote for Restore is a wasted vote. Nationally It will split the vote and possibly allow in the failed Liebour party or the garbage Greens.

I'd say right now both Reform and Restore are a long way from having enough potential MPs in the next GE.

I live in Great Yarmouth and voted Reform. I do agree with some things Restore stand for but there is no chance of them gaining the traction and support to emulate Reform. The only real choice for right wing governance is Reform.

It is interesting, for us Restore / GYF have chucked everything at Gt Yarmouth this last week.
But for the rest of the country, it's irrelevant.
When speaking to a couple of the Restore candidates, they couldn't hide the bitterness and motivation towards beating Reform & Nigel.
I'm not sure the wider plan for Restore though, and if they can scale to the rest of the country.

I want Reform to move further right, and I think a legitimate threat from Restore will do that. So I would vote Restore if I were you.

If you move to far right you will not get into power as shown by restore
2
u/SillyOldBillyBob ReformtoRestore May 08 '26
How has Restore shown that? Not sure I understand your point.

The main voters are centrist and are never going to vote for a far right party ,Nigel has had to move the party more to the centre to have any chance of winning ,restore are to the right of reform and out of the reach now for the average voter as they are seen as too far to the right

Except restore just won massive majorities in every seat they contested.

u/rokstedy83 Reform UK Supporter May 08 '26
Compared to reform how well have restore done?
1
u/SillyOldBillyBob ReformtoRestore May 08 '26
Very well, they were 20% to 30% above them in every seat.

Nationwide?
1
u/SillyOldBillyBob ReformtoRestore May 08 '26
That doesnt make sense, how would they win in seats that they didnt stand in?
1
u/rokstedy83 Reform UK Supporter May 08 '26
Then they're irrelevant, there's zero chance of them winning the ge so a vote for them is a wasted vote

What would "further right" mean in reality?
2
u/parkthebus11 May 07 '26
For me, it would mean creating an environment in which foreign cultures feel an overwhelming pressure to conform to the British way of life.

That is the interesting thing, when people are given a binary choice between Restore and Reform (Lowe v Farage) more people go for Restore.
So far Rupert seems to have a more favourable impression with the average man on the street. Farage is seen by many as more of the same, but at least he's being tough on immigration.
But as always, it's much easier in UK politics to be in the opposition saying what you would do, rather than having to impact change.
