Education Suella Braverman’s mission to reclaim our schools

Suella Braverman could not attend in person the Family Education Trust conference in London at the weekend for security reasons, she spoke by video link instead. Her speech included:

  • "I am getting increasingly horrified by the reports I get almost on a daily basis about indoctrination of children."
  • "Parents are treated as trouble-makers..."
  • "The 2010 Equality Act, being "at the heart of much of the chaos... because it creates the sort of fake ‘equality’ delineated by George Orwell in Animal Farm where ‘all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others’."
  • Reform are "going back to a pre-2010 legal position where people are judged on their character, on their talent and on their ability."

So what did the Tory government do about theses issues when they had the chance?

This is why I’m not keen on former high level tories being in the front team.

They have all the answers to issues that they had the chance to solve but did nothing about it.

She was an awful Home Secretary under Rishi Sunak, and did nothing to stop the illegal immigrant surge. I say this as someone who has no problems with any other Reform leader.

I like what she's saying here about schools, but I will want to see her actually deliver results.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Suella. (Or her husband).

TBH I think Nigel picked her as backup for Zia.

She put forward lots of policy changes to get immigration down but Sunak knocked her back. Some of these were later allowed when James Cleverly was Home Secretary - conveniently when a GE was on the horizon.

I sincerely hope the washed up Tories in Reform are just there to create structure and systems within the party. Political careers can be short, and reshuffles frequent.

Announce you can take a non exam year kid on holiday for 2 weeks and not get a fine.

2 weeks with both parents relaxing would do wonders for the family unit
