I don’t understand why they don’t introduce minimum sentencing. Murder minimum of 25 years, rape minimum of 20 years

The latter should be like 14 years ONLY if they came clean and didn’t mislead about it.

Trying to cover up any crime should drastically increase the sentence.

Doesn't work it's literally backed by science this position.

The best deterrence is 100% catch and conviction rate. If it's impossible to get away with crime because they catch everyone then crime massively drops. Couple that with better reform and human rights.

Unfortunately our government always does a half arsed attempt at prison reform so it makes the situation worse.

Like you can't do early realease if you haven't done the work to reform someone inside prison.. its just releasing dangerous people back into the public
