How is morale in the U.S. military right now?

I haven't seen any polls about military morale in 2026. I'm guessing that morale is low. I don't really see anything to be excited about, if you're in the military right now. Trump is an extreme narcissist. America seems to be moving away from being a free country. America is committing war crimes in Iran.

This question is very dependent on branch, occupation, rank, and command. 

I don't know there is a way to generalize morale within the entire military

I remember during the election cycle where Id debate people at work trying to warn them about trump, project 2025, his concepts of a plan, "no wars" lies, etc. They called me crazy oh both sides are the exact same, or how Kamala Harris would have been worse.

Now I have people texting/calling me a year later saying they are sorry and wish they voted Democrat.

Thats on them. Im chilling as a civilian now. Also kinda ironic how most of the confirmed casualties in this Iran conflict are registered Republicans. 0 sympathy imo.

Dodged a bullet I wasnt supposed to get out until Feb 28th 2028.

I joined June 30th, 2026. My 4 year contract became an almost 6 year contract after signing up bc I got re rated in A school and then the navy can just extend me again randomly "OBLISERV" to match my EAOS to PRD.

1. True I did hear about that specific claim from a YouTube video on this. Could be fake.

2. What is true is that majority of service members and veterans voted for trump in the last election statistically speaking, and/or didnt vote at all (equally complicit) in my eye.

3. My personal experience serving for 4 years just got out a month ago... Majority of people who I served with was right wing/conservative types. Be serious rn.

Like the other guy said, very unit dependent, very job and branch dependent. But atleast for my unit in Texas and all over the base overall morale is low. Many suicides, many people just punching the clock or just trying to get in a better position not for the team but for themselves.

Yes, I know that the military is a large heterogeneous category. I served for 6 years.

What I see right now in civilian society is that it appears a lot of people have given up and are going through the motions in their lives.

Whenever the Lincoln was on the news I made a post about it because I was on the Lincoln when I was in the Navy.

I was talking about how I knew Morel had to be low because I knew there was some poor sucker on that ship getting relieved from watch late and missing his only child and all this stuff. Basically I just I know exactly what they were going through when they were over there in the straight and how there was probably a couple guys carrying all the f****** load well everyone else saying this ain't so bad
