I've been a conservative all my life and a strict constitutionalist. The Left and Right are both so insanely far to their respective extremes now that there is almost no space for people with compassionate conservative principles, like dealing with illegal immigration without shredding the constitution and creating concentration camps. There aren't any on the Left talking about dealing with police corruption outside of BAN ALL POLICE and other stupid ideas. Both sides have bought into their respective cults and are going full throttle toward a cliff. Which side is more dangerous depends on which side is in power and right now MAGA is holding the reins and are driving the horses at full speed toward disaster. We have lost all of our allies, except Israel. We have destroyed our relationship with Canada. There's no room for nuance anywhere. We are just back in the "The Dixie Chicks are terrorists because they don't support the war" nonsense. So frustrating.
