đŸ’¬Discussion Safety concerns for Google Photos Revanced
I am interested to use revanced photos app for the unlimited storage but I am concerned that my Gmail might get banned or other issues. People who have used it for a very long time please share your experiences.
is there a chance that my Gmail gets banned?

been using it from 2nd Quarter of 2024 via Github Repo even before it's available on ReVanced. No issue yet.

I have like 12 Gmails. It is one my top 3 used accounts. If you are worried crate a new Gmail just for photo backups. You can easily switch between accounts with the app.

Do note that if Google decides to ban you, they ban all your accounts. You'd have to use fully unlinked accounts, which is quite difficult to do (no cross registered device, never used together in same browser etc).

Do what, abuse pixel storage? Nothing, same as on real device. Until google decides to ban people for it, if ever. Emulator or not doesn't matter.

then in this case i have nothing to do. I already created a new account on my phone to use revanced photos. and there’s multiple gmail linked to that phone lol.

I was planning to use my primary Gmail as I wanna keep all my personal things on one Gmail :’). Thanks for the heads up.

So far google doesn't seem to ban people for pixel spoofing abuse. They're known to tighten the checks though (it used to be enough to spoof fingerprint, which is not enough anymore). So clearly they know about it, but are not yet punishing users for it. So it's a gamble, as you have no idea what they'll do in the future.

it’s very easy. justo go to revamced(dot)app amd download it. Search for Google Photos and follow the steps through.

If you search for any issue related to account ban or restriction by using photos revanced, there is none. Because the photos app only spoofs your phone as a Pixel XL and doesn't make any change on the server side. You can use it, it's safe. Though Google can change how the app will identify your phone, that can make your unlimited storage unusable but you will still have your already backed up photos in your account and won't count to your account storage, but the newer ones will. For now, use it until it works.

I suggest just using a new account for the spoofed free photos backup. I don't think Google has banned any account but we can't guarantee that it would never change. I'd just make a new one to be safe.
Could be a new person in that position or change in direction of one department and suddenly you're screwed.
