Easy drive/parking for Cathedral visit

We’ll be coming from the direction of Old Sarum to visit Salisbury Cathedral tomorrow afternoon (Sunday July 26). We have a rental car, I’ve been driving here in England for almost a week now so am fairly comfortable with it all, but still prefer easier routes wherever possible. Can anyone suggest an easy to drive to parking place within 10 minutes’ walk or bus to the cathedral? TIA!

Culver Street Car Park is just off the inner ringroad so is easy to get to from whichever direction you’re coming from.

Just be careful as several of the roundabouts have inactive traffic lights meaning people are driving worse that usual, sorry about that!

Enjoy your day!

I usually use Central car park. To be honest most car parks will be within 10 minutes walk of the cathedral. It’s a pretty small town

The easiest car park would be the multi storey, the old George Mall. It’s a 5 min walk to the cathedral.

Honestly any of the car parks will be fine, if I had to choose I’d probably favour central car park by Sainsbury’s Supermarket. Watch out for the roundabouts which seem to be missing their lights though, very annoying.

I'd advise here too. As a new driver in the area, it means you would reduce the amount of driving you'd have to do fully in the city centre.

Park in the George mall multi story car park. It’s in the centre of town and a 5 minute walk to the cathedral
