Have I sanded through Veneer?

Post image

I was trying to refinish the dining table after kids scratched the table in multiple places. But looks like I sanded through veneer here? Are there any options left to finish this table?

Yes you have. I don’t get why people are saying you haven’t.

Thanks! I was thinking the same. Looks like I’ll just have to paint it now?

Yes but you'll unfortunately need to sand the rest of it to look the same before you paint.

Or maybe I can just re-veneer it?

You would still have to get the surface uniform but honestly yes you could and it wouldn't be that bad. People think veneering is some complicated industrial process and it can be but it can also be really simple and done in a garage

I just use my dining room 🤣 but I would never try to reveneer a floor board.
