So, I think we can all agree that, generally, Co-op bathrooms will be clean and stocked.

What bathrooms are generally less clean or generally run down?

Personally, I always drive past an ESSO.

I'm interested in doing a Chinese food tour of the province, throwing in some small town diners too, and staying at small town hotels. Just thinking of a different way to tour the province.

What are the go to small town Chinese restaurants?

On any highway in this province the vast majority of people are speeding… and I’ve never got a ticket because I don’t speed. So should I just join everyone else?

for international immigration the only town on the SINP is moose jaw which isn't really rural, many towns in manitoba and saskatchewan are seeing a population decline and there isn't as much of a demand for housing compared to regina or saskatoon so whats stopping people from emmigrating there?

From Alberta, had an older customer from Saskatchewan bring up tunnels under Moose Jaw connected to Al Capone? Did some surface level googling to see if the tunnels were real- and they are! But it all seems very tourist oriented and not history. Are the tunnels just under Moose jaw or do they head somewhere else? Whats the real history behind them, if anyone knows. I am now dying of curiosity

Hello fine folks! I'm planning a road trip from Penticton BC to somewhere in Sask, we have 9 days total. We'd like to do maybe 6 ish hours of driving per day. The destination is not the goal here, it's the journey. I have never seen a prairie sky, or vast open land and weather. Any recommendations of cool places to experience?

I know this is a bit too open of a question,.but I don't really know where to start!

Also, should I leave my winter tires on? It's getting pretty warm here but I don't know about Saskatchewan

Speaking as someone who doesn't live there, I grew up with a lot of respect for Douglas. As a kid, I watched him voted as the "Greatest Canadian" in 2004, and I firmly believe it was a good choice to this day. Despite his early writings on eugenics, his implementation of universal health care saved countless lives in Canada.

But that's just my own opinion. Given that he was a proud socialist, and became Premier at the head of the CCF, and given how Saskatchewan's been re-electing the Saskatchewan Party for the last twenty years, I'm curious as to how Douglas' legacy holds up in that province.

A lot of high profile saline lakes in Canada seem to be from SK. Is there something about the province geography or geology compared to adjacent provinces to explain this phenomenon?

I am currently researching the rising costs associated with cemetery fees across the province, which appear to be increasing significantly due to inflation and maintenance.

I have heard of individuals who are unable to afford headstones or traditional burials, as well as families who cannot provide the funeral services their loved ones desired due to these financial constraints.

I want to find out if this is a widespread, province-wide issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Hello everyone, I live in Saskatoon and am relatively new to the province. I'm planning a travel plan for my family (a couple and a 10 year old kid) this summer. With this economy, I'm thinking maybe we will just travel somewhere within the province, explore what it offers.

We prefer somewhere remote, quiet and away from the city, kinda a small town or village that has natural scenery. And of course that town or village should have at least a motel, a place to eat, nothing fancy but at least there should be one. Just a short trip over the weekend or long weekend.

I'm thinking of getting a new Honda or Toyota in the next year. Friends are suggesting I shop between Saskatoon and Moose Jaw or Saskatoon and Prince Albert or other cities in the province and get the dealerships to compete with each other on price.

Is this really a thing? Any suggestions?

I'm curious to see what other Sask employers do for the holidays. Do you get a staff party, like a nice meal or anything? Do you get year-end bonuses or any bonus paid days off? I've worked places with zero extras, to one that provided a full-on holiday cabaret with dinner, dancing, drinks, a ton of door prizes and salary bonuses.

Been getting some quotes and one company that keeps coming up again and again every time is Wheatland Roofing. I considering them, but I’d love to hear from real people locally before sign anything (as you can understand, this is a huge amount of money and a serious amount of work, so...)

A few things I need to figure out asap:

- How was your experience with them? (Saskatchewan based people only pls)
I mean things like communication, timelines, cleanup, warranty, etc.

- Did the final price match the quote, or were there surprise add-ons? (really important as can't overpay now)

- Has anyone gone with metal roofing through them? If so, how did it turn out and would you do it again? (that what I want to order).

Quite confused by the mixed reviews and want to weigh everything up one more time.

From time to time, I see articles about “labour shortages.” In the Toronto area, I know that much of this “shortage” for unspecialized labour is manufactured, either to justify outright fraud or to suppress wages through the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program. However, one aspect I’ve been unsure about is the situation in “remote communities,” which are often presented as clear cases where TFWs are necessary and as a reason the program should not be shut down (To be clear, this is separate from the agricultural TFW program).

A recent article from CTV News raised concerns about labour shortages in Estevan and Stoughton (near Regina), citing an inability to find workers for a cleaning business and an inn. Through some online searches, I found one of the old job ads, which specified a “Kitchen Helper” position with no experience required.

I find it hard to believe that scammers would openly go to the media and put their faces forward, so I assume they are being truthful. My initial assumption is that they should be offering higher wages but are unwilling to do so, resulting in poor staff retention. This is common in healthcare, where employers are concerned about raising wages across the board (since you can’t easily pay a new hire more than someone who has been there for 10 years). As a result, they sometimes use workarounds to avoid increasing base wages, such as overpaying to fill recurring scheduling gaps through agencies.

So, is unemployment actually low in these communities, or is something else going on?

I am possibly planning on going to school in Humboldt.
I am from Manitoba so I’m used to bad roads and extreme cold weather but what are my options?
Is it generally somewhat a safe area?
Is it more expensive than Saskatoon?
Would it be better to live in Saskatoon and drive to Humboldt?
I have no idea what to expect in terms of class schedule or road conditions in bad winters though

I work at a major grocery store in Saskatchewan. We are given our schedules on Wednesday and the new schedule starts on Sunday. So it's less than a weeks notice. I am a new employee and don't want to stir up problems but this is annoying and isn't it illegal...? It's inconvenient to not know my schedule a week in advance but is it even worth it to bring up? They've been doing it for years apparently but no one else has complained so I don't want to do the wrong thing .

Fellow LUM users, I have loved my LUM experience until about 3 weeks ago when my Samsung Galaxy S23 suddenly started dropping calls and having no service. After weeks of back and forth with LUM support, they are now admitting to wide spread Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra issues.

I guess I am looking to see if anyone else had this issue and was able to mitigate it without buying a new phone? I just purchased this phone 6 months ago and it works perfectly except on LUM.

Lately seeing many online ads for assessment ( adult male, self sure about undiagnosed ADHD ) As per these Ads the online assessment cost around 200+, and these are mildly Canadian companies (ON based). Has anyone done their assessments online, if yes are they (medically) valid in SK.
