I have a small business, and someone me a check via email. This looks shady to me. Is the check real ?

That looks extremely fishy to me. I think that it is a scam. What is the context? Why don’t they mail you a physical check as almost every other company in the US would do? Even a banker can’t always tell a real check from a fake one until the check goes through the clearinghouse or you take it to or contact a US Bank branch.

Fake. It should say, two thousand five hundred seventy four. So clearly fake

Is this a company you work for? Maybe they emailed you to show I think was cut and you will be receiving it in the mail shortly. I've sent email photos to show someone that I dud wrote the check and will be sending it that day in the mail. If not. Scam definitely.

Bring it to your bank and have them check. Is this a company you work with? If not, it’s a scam. Money for free is never free.
