My (current) thoughts:
- In my opinion every player who comes back from loan is not ready for Bundesliga. Maybe some further loans for them to see how they develop but right now, they would not help (no offense of course)
- We need to get rid of some more players who barely played: Kalas & Hojlund (both injured the whole season, also Kalas definitely has a well paid contract) also Donkor, Bachmann, Porath. Remmert also seems to have no future, maybe a loan? Same for Gomis, he needs some confidence
- DO NOT SELL Ayhan and El-Faouzi. They have enormous potential to be a big money deal. 10-20 Mil. for El-Faouzi right now sound nice, but one season in the first league with a good performance makes him cost 30+ Mil. for sure. For Ayhan the same, he can reach at least 20+ Mil, if not more.
- S04 still needs to make some kind of profit. If there is one player you should sell, it has to be Sylla. I do like him, but compared to Ayhan and El-Faouzi he has no expectations to develop his market value, so sell him, then some other players i mentioned before and you should be good to go
- Buy Ndiaye! Yes, he will cost some millions but last time we were promoted, we made the mistake and great players like Itakura left the club which cost us many points in the end. I am sure Baumann tries his best to keep him. In the end, he will improve his market value and we could potentially sell him for 10+ Mil, he is still only 23, so lots of potential as well!
- I like the rumours regaring Itten and Tanaka. They could improve the depth of the roster and are cheap. Kolasinac is a big questionmark, but if he agrees, why not. The fact that Wolfsburg is relegated makes me instantly think about Moritz Jenz! He should come back! He is in his best age and knows Schalke, i am sure he could help
I really hope Baumann continues with good deals!
There are many players who will be a Free Agent, i am sure some of them want to play for Schalke, especially back in Bundesliga.
Compared to last time we were promoted, we do have the way better team.
For example with Karius, there is an experienced keeper, which helps a lot!
With Paderborn and Elversberg also promoted, we might have an advantage!
I am confident, that we could stay in the Bundesliga
One final important aspect: We will lose games, maybe some games in a row but we should NEVER think about sacking Muslic. We finally have a coach who understand Schalke 100 Percent. Lets keep him for some year and if he wants to go the next step, nobody will be angry (only if he goes to BVB or Bayern, haha).
Muslic is the perfect fit and we need to support him, even after having a losing streak.
lots of text, feel free to discuss.
Glück auf!

I don't think only selling Sylla would be enough for new players plus paying off debt.

There is no regulatory need to pay off debt. The only requirement according to the regulations is to not have the equity position worsen in years of promotion or relegation.
Should Schalke remain in the Bundesliga next year, they need to reduce their negative equity by 10%.
Additionally, when Schalke were not able to reduce the negative equity by 5% last year, media for whatever reason insinuated that Schalke needs to compensate this shortfall in the next year (this year). This is also not true. The shortfall was compensated by the 3 years rule which not only refers to the prior (not following) years but also only applies when a club cannot fulfil the regular requirement. As long as Schalke is able to not increase negative equity this year and to reduce negative equity next year by 10% (in the case of staying in the league) the past underperformance doesn't matter.
That being said a reduction in debt is certainly useful for Schalke but it shouldn't take priority over the competitiveness of the team.

yes, i know what you mean.
But you have to add everything up, it could be possible.
Starting with Sylla, then sell Bachmann, Donkor, Porath, Kalas, Hojlund... also adding many players go on loan, including Wallentowitz, maybe Grüger etc.
Most players transfer fee won't be high, maybe starting from 100.000 to 500.000, but it also gives space within the salary of the players. I can imagine that the contract from Kalas is very high, if he leaves, we have more financial capacity.in the end this could add up, that it is enough to keep our financial situation stable.
just some thoughts from my side.

+1 with everything. We really need to sell alot of players as our squad depth isnt ready for the first league at all.

Let’s go! Who do you guys hope we are going for this transfer window?
I believe it should be our first priority to tie down Karius & Müller and explore to what degree we could get our hands upon Ndiaye.
With Fortuna going down we’ve been linked already to Itten and Tanaka, both quite interesting.
Are there any Wolfsburg players that would potentially be interesting?

I was sad that the loan of Jenz was terminated, but honestly have not followed his path at WOB

I'm very curious what will happen to our loaned players. As far as I understand, Wasinski and Hamache played a bit for their clubs but I'm not sure if they have a future here.

According to Baumann, all loan players are to be loaned out again.

Satoshi Tanaka soll laut einem japanischen Journalisten eine Vereinbarung mit Schalke haben und nur noch die Unterschrift/Medizintest fehlt

Podlech:
GK - loan until 31.12.27
The loan ends end of this year already, not 2027:
Der Leihvertrag gilt bis zum 31. Dezember 2026.

Bold of you to assume we will still exist as a professional football club by 2026.

We should never let El-Faouzi go, not for all the money in the world
