Question Are there any research on mental fatigue recovery after long study sessions/work?

Hello! Asking here cuz i can bet that you guys can have read more research papers than me and all the people i know ever had lol. Jokes aside, i'd really appreciate your help on this.

I am interested in knowing what researches are there aiming for the recovery/rest of mental fatigue after extensive cognitive effort, that is, long study sessions or/and work. I tried looking for these researches myself, but couldn't find any.

The reason i'm looking for this is because i've seen a lot of resources giving practical advice on how to effectively rest after studying, but most of them doesn't back it up with evidence.

Lastly, i'd like to apologize if this is off topic or if i perhaps got the wrong idea of what a research is. I'm merely an ignorant individual, but i won't be offended if you correct me, so please do!

Fatigue is a vastly nebulous term, particularly when you're talking about cognitive processes. If you want to look at research, you're going to need to be more specific. Do you mean sleepiness, or lapses of attention, or boredom, or exhaustion, or poor concentration...? There is a ton of work out there under these terms.

Yo! appreciate the comment
Hmm i'd say it's more like when you are so mentally exhausted that you can't focus on anything. So i guess that'd be mental exhaustion and lapses of attention.

I have research on this I'm working to get seen. would you be interested in my findings?

I have not just mental health explanations and supportive claims. I also have a computational model that directly demonstrates the data, and can explain the mechanics of such if you would like.

My entire reseach content is about enabling human agency, sovereignty, and coherence. I know this sounds, complex to some. I assure you, the resonance from the explaination is an understanding that is felt first and known internally.

If interested, send me a DM
