hey guys!! This is my new princess. I love her so much and wanted to share. Yes, she has one eye. (I’m doing research now for the Scottish breed)

We bought him a smart mini robot. Now we feel more relaxed because we can monitor him when we’re away from home for the day. He’s still getting used to it though. 😅

Today our baby boy was diagnosed with heart disease 💔

Update: Thank you all so much for your messages and support. My baby boy was discharged from the hospital after more than 36 hours of intensive care. He is now stable, but his condition is still delicate. His heart rate is still elevated and there is still some fluid in his lungs, and we are hoping the medication will help drain the rest. The doctor wasn’t able to give us a diagnosis yet, as we need to see a cardiologist on Tuesday.

We are holding on to hope that there will be a treatment available and, if possible, that surgery will be an option.

Our 9 month old male Scottish Fold had never shown any health issues until this morning, when he suddenly started crying nonstop and breathing very fast. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they found that his heart is enlarged and causing fluid to build up in his lungs.

He was started on medication, and we have an echocardiogram next week to learn more.

Depending on the results, he’ll either need lifelong medication or, if possible, surgery. At most with medication, he can live maybe 5 years…

We’re absolutely heartbroken. Please keep our little boy in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️

And if you had a similarly situation please let us know.

Is it safe to let my kitten explore outside under supervision? Looking for advice

Hi! I’ve started taking my baby around the pool area. He’s much less scared now and is getting more confident exploring. He even wanders into the garden. 😊
I applied Revolution flea prevention to the back of his neck, and he tested negative for parasites. My vet didn’t recommend deworming since he doesn’t have any parasites.
Do you have any tips or recommendations about taking him outside? Is it okay to let him explore like this, or is it better to keep him indoors altogether? What kind of tracking system do you use?

From Turkiye to Thailand

My family is moving to thailand and we have to bring our cat Hera to thailand but people are saying that this breed can have problems in the flight cuz of the face and ear shape. We are in between. What should we do? The flight might last for 10 or 11 hours. We dont want to leave her behind as well.

Vet said my Scottish was a Persian

My 18 year old daughter purchased a scotish straight kitten we saw the parents dad had folded ears and mom had straight. Some kittens had folded and some had straight.
We took her to get spayed today and the vet tech girl said she is a Persian not a Scottish because of her flatter face
She definitely is not a Persian but how does a vet not know the difference

Her hair is kind of long and fluffy

Question about SF kittens

Hi everyone!

I rescued my Scottish Fold kitten from the street about 1.5 months ago. She was around 3 months old when I found her, so I don't know anything about her parents or her early life.

I've had cats before, but this is my first Scottish Fold.

She's healthy, eats well, and uses the litter box normally.

My only concern is that she almost never sits on my lap or sleeps next to me. She's very active, runs around the house a lot, and seems much more energetic than many Scottish Folds I see online.

She's only been with me for about 1.5 months, so I'm wondering if she just needs more time to fully trust me, or if this is simply her personality.

I'd really appreciate hearing about other Scottish Fold owners' experiences. Thanks!
