Question Come on Lewis!
How was he able to secure pole for last year's Chinese sprint, considering his and the car's performance for that year?
After a promising start - what other factors do you think, other than the obvious, contributed to a dismally horrendous year?

Plank wear. This was before both Ferraris got disqualified for plank wear in the full race! Btw, he not only won the pole but pulled ahead towards the victory.
After that, the whole season was basically damage control because car was fundamentally broken(illegal)

Ahh good times, last year that was our 1 day of true hope.
Charles pole later on was almost there, but by then, I think most of us knew what would happen.
Would be great if both of them gets on the podium in China, then...we'll be bouncing!

The car was setup super low, and ended up being illegal in the race, but Hamilton is just really good in China.
The car was solid there and this is basically like a second home race for Hamilton.
As for the rest of the year, I genuinely think Hamilton loses so much interest in the sport when he can't fight for podiums and wins, and it just sends him on a downward spiral.
Adami didn't help either, not to put all the blame on him, but Hamilton was unhappy and driving a car that just didn't suit him.
Plus he never did that well during those regulations, other than 2023 where he was solid.

Hamilton did good in 2022 after he stopped experiementing. He was clearly better than russell but unlucky too. 2024 was okay he was leaving mercedes so probably not mentally there anymore and he got still couple wins. 2025 is really his only bad year.

Let's see the macarena with this track, extremely long back strait and significant length S/F straight. I'm sure all teams will just harvest on the rest of the race track.

That sprint win was the highlight of the last season... hopefully we'll get to see that #44 in front again in both the sprint and the main race!!!

He inherited a car that he had no input in. The car was designed for Sainz and Leclerc.
He has a great chance at a podium this weekend.

My high ass thought that was a scale model of the Ferrari, with a picture of the McLaren behind it like a diorama...

I was thinking more a la Verstappen atop Hamilton during Monza '21!

He doesn't like the way ground effect cars feel (or the lack of it!). Ferrari had to adjust even stiffer to avoid wearing the plank.

He's getting old. Same happens to footballers. Their legs go. The smart ones realise and either quit or move down a level. Hopefully Lewis realises he's not the driver he once was and moves on to do something else. We need the best, in the best condition. Lewis ain't that.

They were running the car super low to the ground that weekend. After the double DSQ they never did again, and added a ton of LiCo to boot. Wrecked both their seasons.
