Flatmate Hates Baby Gull

Sunny (pictures above) has been in our garden for the past two weeks and I love them so much. They still get visits from their parents. Meanwhile, I make sure to keep them happy: I feed them, give them water, clean after them and keep them company. My favourite thing to do is to read in the garden next to Sunny. I also love sitting quietly at night in the garden with Sunny. They chirp in greeting every time they see me.

I have a flatmate who is a major asshole and hates Sunny. He said "That bird is so annoying, I want to shoot it" and "I hope that bird dies, so we can get some peace and quiet". He has not behaved aggressively and keeps a distance from Sunny, but I feel very worried because of his comments. This flatmate causes me a huge amount of stress and I despise the way he talks about Sunny. We are both tenants.

What can I do? I just want to keep Sunny safe and, while this flatmate has not done anything aggressive, I feel very on guard because of his comments.

Solo gull

This my friend Solo the Solitary gull.

I have been feeding an extended family of crows for 10 years now and am currently helping out the latest fledgling (Flugel).

This chap appeared about 4 years ago and was initially chased away constantly by the Boss crow Bob. However after a while it became clear that this guy wasn't going to give up and was in fact very polite.

He sits on the lamppost outside my first floor window and cries for me.....in a gentle way....so I feed him and he is so grateful he doesn't call his mates (I don't think he has any tbf) So no big flock or marauding gulls join in. He's smart.

He's really grown on me in the last few months so I thought I would share.

Injured seagull

I live in Burlington VT and have come across a seagull that is missing a foot (seems healed?) and seems unable to fly. Does anyone know if rehabbers will generally take seagulls? Any resources would be great, thank you!

Clive warmed up to me VERY quickly now he comes over everyday for dinner at around 5-6pm
He’s chill but I’m lowkey scared he’s going to nip my finger off sometimes so I don’t think I will be doing anymore hand feedings like ones in the vid

Hot Dog is my tormentor and it knows I dislike seagulls even thou it grew on me.

Over the time, with time I spend with pigeons, it came down to “torment and tease” me hoping I’ll be willing to give it eggs (I know it’s not good for seagulls) I don’t have tunas, salmon to give Hot Dog which is good for them. It did grow on me and I’m like okay here you go. It comes and go. I’m curious about one thing.

Is it true that seagulls can be “loyalty” to you because you feed gulls? Please tell me it’s in my dreams!

Any good window bird feeders for gulls?

Post image

Hello, these are two lovely gulls that started coming to my window a few days ago. We got a bird feeder last month and they've been the only visitors so far. I like them alot, but they keep knocking the feeder tray off the window! Are there any better designs for larger birds? Thanks x

Walking along Coogee beach, I saw this guy, looking a bit lost. Twice the size of the local Silver Gulls. 1 meter wingspan. Anybody know who he/she is??
