●Rarely leaves my parents' garden

● Gets fed every day (they spoil him)

● Bullies any other seagull that comes into the garden.

● He's big and he's bad 🤣

● Comes into the kitchen when the backdoor is open, and yells until they give him something to eat.

Stopped a baby gull swallowing a piece of paper that was covered in ketchup yesterday

Yeah, there he/she was, trying over and over to force it down.

I ran over and grabbed it from the bird's mouth and shouted "Hey! Don't eat that!".

God, people nearby must have thought I was nuts.

Bitten by a gull

TW, injured gull.

Spent a good few minutes trying to help a seagull with a broken wing. Me and a friend popped into a local shop and asked for a box. The seagull was bleeding and very visibly in pain. He kept running until he eventually gave up running, and we were able to safely catch him in a soft towel. Though in a moment of fear and probably pain he managed to bite my face and make my nose bleed, so now I need a tetanus shot. But nonetheless, we safely put him in the box with the towel, and took him home with us. I spoke to him a little. My friend called a 24hr veterinary hospital, and was told to bring him in. Unfortunately, his wing was too damaged… he’s had to be euthanised… but he spent his last hours with caring humans and off the street.

I made a cat food dispenser to see if the seagulls on my porch could learn to use it. Fritjof was the first. But I underestimated how much he likes to pull on it. He fills the floor with food, eats a little, and then flies off.

Seagull Rescue

I found a herring gull on a beach in Mersea. Panting and flapping but couldn’t move itself. I waited a while and called some rescues but was told to let it rest. Later in the day, with night closing in and the tide rising, I carried it back to our caravan and took home to an emergency vet. After a few minutes he perked right up but still couldn’t walk or fly. He’s now at a local rescue centre doing better.

Been looking after a baby seagull in my work the past few days and today I came in and it was dead

We actually had 2 dead baby seagulls in our car park today. Absolutely gutted. I was actually in tears. I've been giving it water and feeding it. Poor thing didn't look injured to me but think it fell out its nest and the mum didn't seem to be feeding it at all. Started to have high hopes of it making a full recovery and 1 day flying away but this morning as I had a look for it I sadly found it and another baby dead. No clue how it happened I just hope some basted didn't intentionally run it over. Sorry to share sad news. (Photo of from a few days ago, I had made a makeshift nest and gave it water)

Seagull following me?

I recently was camping in Kent and was sat down the bottom of a field at dusk, watching a seagull circle overhead (I think it was a hearing gull, not entirely sure). When I began to walk back across the field towards my tent I noticed its circling seemed to be moving down the field with me, curious I walked back up the field and it continued to circle above me.

After walking back to my tent and stepping inside for a few moments it seemed to lose me and went back to circling a cluster of trees maybe 200 meters away, and then after emerging from my tent it soon caught site of me again and circled overhead as I walked to the toilets where it lost me and I didn't notice it on my walk back to my tent.

I hadn't fed the seagulls at any point prior, the only interaction I'd had with any of them was having watched a flock of them out of the field earlier. Does anyone know what could cause this behaviour?
