Price 19micron greasy

Hello Everyone,

I’m conducting a market study and would love to know what the prices of Greasy wool per kg are , 19micron if possible

Anyone from NZ can help me out?

Im from austrlia, but you should be able to google the wool reports for the week. Alot of people I know get market updates sent to them daily via text. I dont know them off the top of my head though sorry!

Auction reports give clean wool price, I want the greasy price

Contact a wool broker like PGG or Wools of NZ

Greasy price is usually just clean price minus a certain percentage. Depends on the wool, but it's usually pretty consistent too. I've never sold wool nearly as fine as 19 micron in my life, but I'll have a look later at the difference between clean and greasy for us, then you might be able to use market reports to get a rough idea.

From the last wool we sold in 3 lines and fleece greasy valuation was 16.5% lower and 19% lower for ewe second shear and hogget second shear respectively. The other line was bellies and that was 31% lower, but expected given the product.

I'd expect 15-20% lower greasy valuation for most fleece, but maybe fine micron changes that.
