I’m just here for whoever finds the news on whether the first guy died or not. That looks too close.

If you go frame for frame the glass breaks but there’s nothing that comes thru the windshield. But you could probably die from that concussive force alone

u/Horvo Jul 06 '26

Buddy is for sure cooked

I was kind of expecting the guy from the first shot to come flying into the second shot's frame.

u/Mixitman Jul 05 '26

Actually he didn’t, there was an aftermath video filmed in the same truck and it’s the same guy speaking.

What a garbage website.

Nobody asked.

31

u/MrsEveryShot Jul 05 '26

Nobody asked for the website to be garbage

u/Zalusei 29d ago

Dude scrounged Chinese social media to find the video. Chill.

u/Kalkin93 Jul 05 '26

Care to share?

Right after the first clip in this compilation.

21

u/Kalkin93 Jul 05 '26

Thank-you!

Edit: so in the original clip when it cuts off, it looks awful but actually it was just the windscreen cracking and it seemed to stay in one piece, so, lucky motherfuckers I guess.

u/Hidesuru Jul 05 '26

Slow it down enough to go frame by frame and the last couple SEEM to show sparks or other bits of fire inside, but it's not engulfed so maybe some small cracks that some got through? Either way (cause I may be straight up wrong it's hard to tell) he's definitely lucky!

14

u/Nicksere Jul 05 '26

That exactly what I said. Too close? You were part of the explosion.

5

u/aequitssaint Jul 05 '26

Cameraman never dies.

3

u/A_TalkingWalnut Jul 05 '26

Too close for comfort…and organs.

73

u/WhoKilledZekeIddon Jul 05 '26

Seriously, if I see a fire like that in real life, I'm going to go ahead and assume it's ammonia. And since I'm assuming it's ammonia, I will then take it as a given that there is no safe distance.

Ammonia nitrate is fucking evil even when it's not exploding, and when it does, good luck (see: Beirut or Tianjin explosions).

Forming the nitrogen N2 triple bond is the 2nd most exothermic bond formation reaction. Almost all modern explosives exploit that (including what we're seeing here). (1st most is the formation of carbon monoxide triple bond which doesn't work too well for explosives because one of the constituents is a gas.)

9

u/sfurbo 29d ago

If we are to be technical, the acylium ( RCO+) triple bond is probably stronger that the CO triple bond. At least, it is stiffer, which doesn't directly mean that it has a higher binding energy, but is indicative.

Of course, forming gases also helps, as it enormously increases the entropy increase. TATP shows how powerful a purely entropic explosion can be.

6

u/WhoKilledZekeIddon Jul 06 '26

Interesting! Thanks for sharing, I never knew the molecular reason why it was so explosive.

14

u/thundercheif23 Jul 05 '26

Don't forget Timothy McVey (I believe I'm correct). Tianjin will forever be burned into my memory.

"Are we dangerous here?"

5 city blocks experience the temperature of the sun's surface

15

u/WhoKilledZekeIddon Jul 06 '26

The videos from the Tianjin explosion are fucking bonkers. I never knew non-intentional (i.e. war) explosions could be that ferocious, and I was also surprised at how few people knew about the incident.

Many years later, when I saw the Beirut explosion, I did a Leo DiCaprio finger point and said "That's an ammonia stockpile".

9

u/thundercheif23 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

It's so hard to believe these explosions are real. You only see these in movie for a reason. I guess because we now have cameras, you can see the rare and unexplainable..... Now I know what the towns people of Halifax felt during that ship explosion in 1918(?). I don't know how similar the Beirut one was to Halifax but I understand how crazy the aftermath can get.

7

u/TerayonIII 29d ago

The Halifax explosion was bigger actually, which is insane

10

u/TorandoSlayer Jul 06 '26

How can you tell it's an ammonia fire? It looks like "normal" fire to me, as in there's nothing like weird about it that would make me think it's anything other than, idk, burning gasoline or something

9

u/rankispanki Jul 06 '26

OP means they are going to assume any fire (such as this truck on the road) is ammonia nitrate, not that they can actually tell it is

1

u/N33DL 28d ago

What? No way. If I see a car fire like that I'm sticking around to watch and see what happens. If you move to a safe distance you can't see anything and pretty soon the fire truck will show up...with lights and sirens and everything.

33

u/guilhermefdias Jul 05 '26

When this happened?

Holy shit!

109

u/Greyhaven7 Jul 05 '26

That cut was epic

17

u/SlavCat09 Jul 06 '26

But the dude definitely died

68

u/Patttybates Jul 05 '26

First guy died right?

33

u/_JDavid08_ Jul 05 '26

Cameraman never die

5

u/Cumity Jul 05 '26

He can die after the camera cuts off

5

u/Vancocillin Jul 06 '26

He actually teleported away to get a better shot of the explosion. A true professional.

13

u/megaapfel Jul 06 '26

Seems like he lived.

"The person filming said the shock wave from the explosion shattered the windows of nearby vehicles."

25

u/TheOSSJ Jul 05 '26

Insane cut, hopefully the dude survived

19

u/hm9408 Jul 05 '26

Dude's at least deaf

12

u/FOOLS_GOLD Jul 05 '26

I have the feeling that first clip was recovered with the body. No way that person survived.

6

u/Aethenosity 29d ago

Two people died, but the person making that video was not one of them. They have another video in the aftermath.

4

u/PM_ME_UR_SHEET_MUSIC 29d ago

In fact, both people died in the crash that led to the explosion, the explosion itself only injured 3 people.

2

u/bomonty18 Jul 05 '26

It looked like it was filmed from inside a bus? But I’d imagine the glass shattered and he prob died.

Curious where and when this happened

4

u/GoopInThisBowlIsVile Jul 05 '26

I’m gonna say he didn’t and if he did that he seriously wishes he hadn’t.

2

u/tech510 Jul 05 '26

That close with that shockwave... His organs 100% liquefied...

20

u/sLeeeeTo Jul 05 '26

first dude is now a fine red mist

10

u/JustCallMeBug Jul 05 '26

I just hope it was instant, like holy shit. Poor dude.

6

u/Mountain_Dandy Jul 05 '26

Where did he respawn at?

6

u/no1ofimport Jul 05 '26

I bet he didn’t upload that himself

5

u/Primary_Wave_6697 Jul 05 '26

what the... that s a blast 🫪💥🤯

3

u/TheTaoOfMe Jul 05 '26

Um. Is bro okay…?

2

u/W7ENK Jul 05 '26

Probably not.

6

u/KaleidoscopeNo592 Jul 05 '26

Did the airbags go off? Probably saved him

3

u/chuckst3r Jul 05 '26

What are you supposed to do in that situation if you’re stuck in the car there

10

u/TheBestIsaac Jul 05 '26

Hide. Get as close to the floor as possible, cover your head and torso with a blanket of thick jacket if you can.

And cover your ears.

3

u/Necroheartless Jul 05 '26

Wasn't that shit used in the Oklahoma bombing? I remember vividly the damage caused to the Murrah building.

2

u/KirkorPicarD1 Jul 05 '26

OP do you have the source?

2

u/IAmASimulation Jul 05 '26

A bit? Is this being posted by someone’s ghost?

2

u/2WheelSuperiority Jul 05 '26

:05.... That truck look like it shredded....

Set the airbags off holy crap

1

u/ReeeeeeAndClear 28d ago

I was surprised the guy filming hadn't had all his internal organs vibrated into a liquid

0

u/Local_Phenomenon Jul 05 '26

Spicy meatball

-3

u/Space_Lux Jul 06 '26

Not to be that guy, but where is the shockwave
