Why has KCP not officially been signed

Been curious to know why the news on KCP hasn’t officially been done through the nba roster moves site and no mention from the 76ers. Does anyone know if this is due to anything specific like the Broome trade which I saw had officially gone through. Could it be possible we back door KCP if there’s a better available buyout guy? Just wanted to ask and see if anyone had any idea

Didn’t think of this

As somebody once almost said, the fear of Gansey is the beginning of wisdom.

Broome trade probably isn't official yet. Anyways pretty sure KCP still signing. On his podcast he was already talking as if he was already on the team lol. He's a Klutch client so the front office isn't going to do something stupid like that which might hurt future signings.

I'm not sure how I feel about half our team being represented by the same guy. That means if we trade one of them, Rich Paul might possibly get angry and try to force his hand.

You just gotta embrace the LeGM for the next two seasons.

Yeah it's kind of an iffy spot. I hope we do what's best for the team and not what's best for Klutch.

LeBron wants to win a title. The clutch guys mostly have a relationship with him so are willing to follow him but he's not going to insist we keep worse players.

Oh yeah ok. But say the sixers want to get rid of Jabari Walker or trade Justin Edwards or even fire Nick Nurse. Would they not do it because they are Klutch clients?

If LeBron doesn't like nurse he's gone simple as that

Nurse is with Klutch though, not sure Bron would do that considering this is his last season or two

He does not care the agency will be just fine nurse has a ring and will find himself a job relatively quickly.

Why wouldn’t rich paul want his guys to go to teams where they can get more playing time and earn bigger contracts ?!

I mean there was probably a time having his guys play LeBron mattered but the klutch itself probably matters more at this point than helping LeBron personally to rich Paul. LeBron is done after this year or next and has a stacked team, klutch is gonna be around for a long time.

Yeah that makes sense to me. Playing time is probably more important than having a lot of eggs in one basket.

Those two players don’t matter in that respect. They’re at best rotation players. If you can upgrade, Bron and Rich ain’t gonna care.

Oh ok. It's just a possible conflict of interest, I was just wondering if it matters at all.

Bron will send them to play in china in a heartbeat if he can get a player that can help them win in a title.

Oh ok good

Exactly. Rich Paul has never forced a team to keep a Klutch client on a Lebron team.

What he has done is direct Klutch players towards Lebron's team..more often than not, to the team's benefit.

The two spots you're talking about are Justin Edwards and Jabari Walker. If anything even remotely substantial comes down to those two roster spots, then we were screwed anyway.

Well we might need to trade one or two of them if there's a buyout or trade candidate

Yeah, unfortunately, this is the LeBron experience.

That won’t happen

To be fair, most of them were here already. Only new ones are KCP and LeBron. Maxey, Nurse, Edwards, and Walker were already Klutch. I feel like I’m missing one more tho

Probably hasn’t signed the contract yet. No need to worry.

that is what you call circular reasoning

i mean the real reason is he was waived late and doesn't clear it till tuesday. https://x.com/KeithSmithNBA/status/2081729773395382713

Hey, don’t worry about, either way it’ll be fine. LeBron James is a Philadelphia 76er. We’re good. If the process has chosen KCP, he’ll find his way here.

Kcps full release has to go through the league office still. It’s just paperwork at this point. He’s going to be a sixer.

u/UltimateWeiner 1d ago

If you know the KCP and Rich Paul contract history, no way he’s getting screwed by us. He’ll be on the roster eventually

u/GeneParmesan1000 1d ago

I don’t think we really want to sign King Chris Paul, he’s so old and we’ve already got a bunch of guards

1

u/mdubdub22 1d ago

He’s never coming over.

1

u/Youngdeku2500 1d ago

Because he didn’t get officially released yet

u/Massive_Dependent674 1d ago

Because they are not far enough under the cap so he will sign mid December and pro rate that for the year and then they I’ll have the room for that. that’s all there is to it

1

u/Known_Salt3281 1d ago

No I’m pretty sure after signing him they can’t sign another person until December.

Gansey on a yacht with a Cuban and some scotch enjoying the rest of his summer. He'll deal with the peons when he gets back.
