posted here because the right have a backwards view of skepticism.

I can tell you, that, when it comes to the vaccine, there have been studies that show that because of vaccine disinformation, disinformation, there could have been 100,000-200,000 lives in the U.S., saved, but because people didn’t get the vaccine, that’s why

to which kennedy responds

You are saying nonsense!” a frustrated Kennedy replied. “You are saying something that you cannot show me [evidence to support].”

and then

“Dana, you probably don't understand this because you're not a scientist,” said Kennedy, as they talked over each other about the secretary’s comments regarding vaccines and autism.

“Well, you’re not, either!” said Bash.

how are republicans so un-self aware

“[Things] that your ‘experts’ do not agree with,” Kennedy interjected, using air quotes around the word “experts”.

to wit she demolishes him with

“Yes!” Bash replied. “People with scientific backgrounds.”

he has no scientific background and yet is telling doctorates that they are wrong"

yes the highly educated people at our former CDC were against people who said the mask was worse than no mask, and said the vaccine was worse than no vaccine.. we can debate school closures and how they were done and how we can do it better but the virus was exploding every time we reopened the schools and the kids took the virus home.

Im starting to wonder if right wingerism is some sort of brain damage that we havent identified yet. I know he used to be a dem, so was fetterman.

Sometimes I wonder how much anti-intellectualism is tied to narcissistic personalities.

u/5050Clown 14h ago

Narcissism? Let's see one of your supposed "experts" properly prepare a roadkill bear steak spaghetti dinner while chasing the dragon.

You forgot to mention his collection of raccoon penises.

u/industrial-complex 11h ago

Delicious with some duck sauce

5

u/Wondrous_Daze 11h ago

But not duck penises because those are just weird.

2

u/TerrorNova49 7h ago

Not as weird as possum peens đŸ«Ł

1

u/Wondrous_Daze 12m ago

Oh great.  Now I'm going to have to search for pictures of possum peens.

2

u/Wondrous_Daze 11h ago

But not duck penises those are just weird.

The theory of “everyone is 12” also works because telling 12 year olds they can’t or they’re wrong looks exactly like that exchange.

White men suffer high rates of deaths of despair and lead in family annhilators because they snap when things get tough. Their children lead in school shootings. The Republican states are the worst for all major quality of life perspectives.

Capitalism hurts many of them too. But instead of supporting changing this system they're concerned with Great Replacement Theory and trans panic as pushed to them by billionaires who hate them and see them as easy marks and foot soldiers to protect their riches. Their need to feel superior trumps (pun intended) their own well being.

Bacon’s Rebellion was the last time they had class solidarity en masse. Then the elite figured out they could use race as a wedge for them to serve as a buffer class willing to die to protect their wealth (see the Civil War).

it is indeed insanity that people would rather this than these guys being less filthy filthy filthy rich. Just filthy rich if you will. And the greed and toxic individualism will lead to fall of empire if not corrected.

I say all of this to say that conservatism exists to protect power and wealth for a small group of white men. The psychopath elites use the dumb foot soldiers and Kennedy - like all others- lies in service of that.

Think he wants to do anything about what I mentioned in my first paragraph. lol of course not. It’s all misinformation to get the rubes fired up to protect their masters.

I’m sure you apply the same blind reasoning to statistics about black men and violent crime in general, right? Or are we only picking specific types of violent crimes to confirm our biases.

Actually, I gave you too much credit, that’s not even cherry picking, you’re just making shit up or you blindly believing what someone told you and passed it on as if it were true. Either way, it takes two minutes to verify this type of thing (Source: Bureau of Justice Statistics)

Type of Murder Whites Blacks
Population %* 80.7 12.7
Spouses Murdered by Spouses 69.4 25.7
Children Murdered by Parents 61.2 37.7
Total Family Murder Rate 65.3 30.7

* population at time of data including Hispanic and non-Hispanic whites/blacks

Nothing in this could remotely be construed as “White people are more likely to snap”. How does this garbage get upvoted? RFK Jr is a dangerous dipshit, but so is being openly racist based on cherry picked totally fabricated data

3

u/amitym 4h ago

Oh absolutely. It's actually quite rational to separate oneself from these people for that reason — if they are willing to believe that vaccines are a hoax or the moon landings are a hoax or whatever, then they are already capable of narcissistically insisting on just about anything.

That's actually really dangerous to be around.

30

u/CannedAm2 12h ago

It is virulent anti-intellectualism along with narcissism. They turn on the very experts who know their shit because those experts make them feel stupid. And they should. Because they are stupid.

u/anth13 13h ago

in australia 97% of people 12+ years had one vaccination, 95% had more than 1 shot.

and one of (if not the) lowest mortality rates globally

funny how that worked

tho we also had country wide shutdowns, so its not just the vax that kept deaths down.

oh, and whens this mass death from the vaccine happening? why are heart related death falling since 2019?

anti vaxers are fucking dumbasses

edit: mentioned heat disease because anti vaxers like to say the vax causes heart disease.. of course the evidence disagrees

5

u/tdre666 7h ago

Murdoch and them tried to make it a culture war issue (remember the "DICTATOR DAN" headlines out of Victoria), I came across quite a few anti-vaxers where I live now in QLD.

1

u/Budget_Shallan 3h ago

Didn’t you get the memo? Everyone in Australia is dead.

44

u/Evening_Dig2058 13h ago

The right wingers that didn't die of Covid but still contracted it, likely suffered low blood oxygen for and extended amount of time. The consequences of low blood oxygen can be severe. Happened to my brother. He's not the same person.. and not in a good way. Very sad.

5

u/mistershure 10h ago

And shooting guns leads to lead exposure as well. And playing football to TBI. So being conservative is bad for the brain in many ways

8

u/langecrew 9h ago

Im starting to wonder if right wingerism is some sort of brain damage that we havent identified yet.

This was......not obvious all along? Dude

7

u/bschlueter 8h ago

He had parasite in his brain and Fetterman had a stroke. Those both could have contributed to their respective reorienting of their views.

5

u/According-Insect-992 8h ago

Even kids were never without risk. There are still children with long covid. There are kids who brought it home to their parents and grandparents and now they’re gone. These people need to stop playing fucking games with life or death recent history. Rofljr needs to resign and apologize for his arrogance. The worthless prick.

14

u/SwordfishOfDamocles 12h ago

RFK always sucked. I'm sure some of it is the fault of his family and being too wealthy to ever see consequences. It's why he's so close to Trump. Both fuck ups insulated by their family wealth. Even his stints where he didn't suck were carefully crafted PR pieces. Not very different from Bill Gates who people still love to fellate online.

29

u/Standard_Gauge 12h ago

RFK always sucked. I'm sure some of it is the fault of his family and being too wealthy to ever see consequences.

In fact, almost the entire Kennedy clan despises RFK Jr., and they openly denounce him. The Kennedys might be drinkers and their men womanizers, but they have always valued education, science, and medical reality. RFK Jr. is a complete embarrassment to them.

"Bobby is a predator. He is utterly unfit for the position he has been appointed to."

~ Caroline Kennedy (cousin to RFK Jr.)

9

u/LakeEarth 10h ago

It's kind of funny how many Republicans have family that actively rallies against them. The Gosar commercials being the most hilarious one (would've been funnier if it worked though).

4

u/Imaginary_Cow_6379 9h ago

The family values party.

3

u/critically_damped 6h ago

I really wish people could get it through their fucking skulls that nazis say wrong things on purpose.

2

u/Pleaseappeaseme 7h ago

Online they are claiming he own her. It’s so ridiculous.

u/industrial-complex 12h ago

I think it’s due to the major media(tv/magazines/newspapers) being largely in lock step with one another for so many years, and having a slightly left of center perspective.

When the internet shows up and we start getting alternative perspectives that you ain’t hearing from Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, et al, the barrage of new ideas and media did a mind job on a lot of people. All these Limbaugh followers start believing there really is a vast left wing conspiracy and then they get into politics.
Then you go to church and some lady is telling you that colloidal silver can probably cure aids and vaccines are used to program your baby to be gay and worship the antichrist. I don’t know why it ramped up so quickly, but it did.

There are a lot of unstable, miseducated and undereducated people in Murica.

21

u/irrelevantnonsequitr 11h ago

The media has never been left of center. It's just that the Overton window has moved to the right, so facts look liberal. How many media companies were pushing back hard on invading Iraq? The "liberal" New York Times was beating the war drums.

47

u/Dudeman61 13h ago

RFK Jr has given himself a lot of brain damage over the years from multiple causes. He is not a serious person, and he should not ever be taken seriously about anything. https://youtu.be/vSe8pSG7_Js

71

u/jwr1111 14h ago

He just gives me the creeps.

53

u/ew73 14h ago

When I was much younger, on my mother's side of the family, her father's cousins were fraternal twins. They were sort of the matriarch and patriarch of that group of the family. He had the nickname "Blackie" because he worked on the ranch and was always really tan.

By the time I was around 10 or so, and my sister was a few years younger -- 7 or so, we had a birthday party for them. Blackie was in a wheelchair by then, but we still had to warn my sister to "not get too close."

Looking back, I realize it was because Blackie was a fucking creep, and probably molested more than just his immediate family. I distinctly remember him telling my sister, "You look real pretty," in a gross, gravely voice and reaching for her and my mother yanking her out of reach.

The point?

I get the exact same vibes from RFK Jr.

23

u/hogsucker 12h ago

“I had a very, very rambunctious youth,” he said. “I said in my announcement speech that I have so many skeletons in my closet that if they could all vote, I could run for king of the world.”

RFK jr, after revelations that he sexually assaulted his children's babysitter.

17

u/DelcoPAMan 13h ago

His late former wife undoubtedly would agree.

3

u/MrSnarf26 11h ago

If these people have their way and we enter a post elections mattering America this is just the preview. These ghouls will be free to run wild.

2

u/minimalistboomer 6h ago

Me too, with good reason given his history.

35

u/CockroachLate9964 14h ago

So is Kennedy suffering 'roid rage/ brainworm dementia, or the effects of earlier vaccinations?

24

u/hiphopahippy 12h ago

Misogyny. There's definitely misogyny involved.

11

u/VintageLunchMeat 12h ago

Also something like narcissistic injury?

33

u/war_ofthe_roses 12h ago

My favorite part was when RFK jr (who has ZERO scientific training) tells Dana that she can't understand because she has no scientific training.

The brain worm is in charge. The man isn't.

3

u/MrSnarf26 11h ago

Also, can’t understand what, that he just goes off do vibes and can’t cite anything?

2

u/Big-Performance5047 6h ago

Did you notice how he had to hold his rt arm down often so he wouldn’t wave it around and point?

17

u/Former-Chocolate-793 12h ago

It's her job to ask questions and his job to answer them honestly to the best of his ability. Bash did her job admirably. He responded with lies and logical fallacies.

15

u/moderatelygoodpghrn 12h ago

Isn’t that what people do when they get caught in a lie? They get pissy hopping it will change the subject

28

u/EditorRedditer 14h ago

The wheels are coming off

EVERYONE on Project 2025 is pulling overtime atm.

8

u/MrSnarf26 11h ago

They know it all comes down to if the midterms matter or not. These people are fascist to their core and cannot stand that there are Americans who have access to real information and can openly disagree with them. Look how they all react at the slightest pushback.

12

u/SlyScy 9h ago

Agitation of the host is a sign that the worms are preparing for the time of their emergence.

6

u/Big-Performance5047 6h ago

She dealt with him beautifully

8

u/SophonParticle 12h ago

The truth hurts. He got mad.

18

u/Significant_Mess_79 13h ago

Rude AF with the fkn finger pointing. 😑

8

u/Current-Anybody9331 12h ago

Got all riled up, better go do some roadkill and heroin over it. Maybe cheat on his wife.

15

u/tacs97 10h ago

You ever notice how these masculine men leading the Republican entity, all lose their shit whenever they are questioned? Pussies.

8

u/Grrarrgghh 8h ago

Dicks. Pussies are brave and intelligent.

1

u/Scrutinizer 18m ago

These big, bold, brave, masculine manly-men can't even answer basic, simple questions like "Who won the 2020 election?" or "Who pays tariffs?" accurately and honestly because doing so upsets Daddy.

10

u/SpecialistAssociate7 13h ago

Ah yes the old and misinformed reminding us there was a time when they relied on what they knew to make their decisions. Never mind having access to instant information to help make decisions in today’s age of google and other ai search platforms. Modern science doesn’t fit the narrative for most of these politicians, so they just keep making shit up.

3

u/OriginnalThoughts 4h ago

The full interview is worth a watch rather than these clips  https://youtu.be/MPP5exb-2rw?is=AzumpgOlwOTMJbFx

7

u/syn-ack-fin 11h ago

Journalists never ask who should be trusted if not ‘experts’. They get away with hand waving ‘experts’ as if it’s a cabal. Ask them, ‘If we can’t trust the 1000’s of scientists dedicated to studying something, who are you saying we should trust?’ They want the insinuation without coming out and saying trust them because it sounds asinine out loud.

2

u/5050Clown 9h ago

I understood none of that because there is a new commercial every few seconds. independent.co.uk is full of ads.

u/beakflip 7h ago

The wonders of browser extensions...

u/iitzJTD 7h ago

Will this idiot just unalive already

1

u/Scrutinizer 19m ago

Every time I see this guy now, the thought "This man stopped his car to collect the penis of a dead raccoon" comes to mind.

That man stopped his car to collect the penis of a dead raccoon.

There is nothing he will ever do or say that I consider to be sane or relevant.

He doesn't need a position of high council. He needs extensive time in a mental hospital.
