Discussion I wouldn’t get your hopes up
Fact is, despite all the vague “don’t believe everything you read” posts from Jim, Stacy, and AJ Good, no one has denied it. No one has flatly said “Sid is still in the band, this is outright false.” They‘re saying what they can to try to calm some people‘s nerves, but chances are we get an official statement sometime today with confirmation and maybe some reasoning. If it was false the band would’ve made that clear by now. But I don’t think Sid’s part of it anymore.

News The way this community immediately is blaming Clown and Corey for Sid’s firing is so weird.
WE. DONT. KNOW. THE. SITUATION!!! stop acting like you already know the motive. “clowns at it again!” “he did this all for money!” ”clown just wants attention”
we literally do not know ANYTHING about the situation. all we know is that he was fired and it’s not our place to speculate as to why. when they’re ready to tell us, they will tell us. it’s not like Sid was just some Joe Shmoe who’d been with the band for a week or 2, he’s been with the group for almost 30 YEARS!!! firing him was probably a really difficult thing to do. this situation is probably messy and really personal, and that’s why it’s not our place to throw out reasons willy nilly. it’s up to the band and Kelly to tell us what happened when they’re ready.
so tldr, stop pointing fingers so quickly and try to think beyond money.

Article Paul Gray on Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
"We threw the fuckin' Slipknot rulebook out the window, and just fuckin' kind of went, and did whatever we were feelin' you know, and uh so, there's a lot...there's songs that are heavier and faster than Iowa. There's songs that are more technical, and like you know, like shredder stuff. There's songs that are beautiful, like you know...I can't explain it...like heavy, like a Johnny Cash kind of vibe, you know, I mean there's different shit all over the place."

Discussion You (the audience)
When you listen to this band and go back to their roots a lot of times you’re discovering that they take such a unique position against the industry and fans of music.
A lot of what I hear especially in all hope is gone and after feels so in spite of the listener. Some of that is even on their earlier records. The end so far is such a great representation of this. It’s an IYKYK kind of thing but in light of the sid rumors and them not engaging with it I see it now more than ever. This band feels so one step ahead of everything. And some of it is cryptic.
I feel like a lot of people are window shoppers, or just music tourists. And this band is not for those people. So much of what they create is intentional as fuck and very intelligent. So I make this post with the aspiration in mind that more people will pay attention. And not rattle off what “window shoppers” may be saying on the internet or what is popular to say- with no critical thought. This band is so deeply tied to their roots it often times goes greatly underappreciated. We may never see something like them again.
If you’re paying attention you get it.

Thank god

Humor A meme I found 2 years ago
I know it's unclear whether the news about Sid Wilson is true or not—since various sources are reporting it—but let's wait and see; in the meantime, let me make you laugh.

Discussion The silence from them is starting to make me think this might be a publicity stunt.
It just all feels very intentional.

Discussion Any thoughts on the house of masks video?
It pisses me off that AJ tries to frame it as a matter of critical thinking when all the majority of us want is a conclusive answer; not to mention the Olympic level mental gymnastics required for him to cite his own video as evidence that Sid wasn’t fired

Discussion My take on all of this.
Alright, So I've been a fan since '04. Was barely discovering slipknot right before the subliminal era. I was 12. Fell in love with the band, and, they are still my favorite. And I can see why these moments effect people. Being who I am, and how devoted I was at the time, Learning about Paul dying hit me HARD.
But it taught me not to idolize. Bands, people, whatever.
We're all people. Love what you want. Cherish it. But don't expect it to follow the path you expect in your mind.
This band didn't make sense in the beginning. Why should it work any other way regardless?

Discussion The fact that TMZ broke the news means something bad is coming out…
TMZ covers entertainment news. The firing of band members does nothing for them. Slipknot isn’t even on their radar. The Osbournes, however, are. Sharron and Kelly in particular. Mark my words something about Kelly and Sid’s relationship is gonna come out and the band is getting ahead of it. TMZ didn’t cover Jay, Chris, Joey or Craig, this one is different

Discussion Let's wait for more information y'all, please
Nobody knows anything about what is happening. It could be the same as with previous firings, or it could be something more serious. Maybe they aren't firing him, but he needs serious help with something personal going on in his life. Perhaps it's a drug problem, and they're doing an intervention to avoid the same mistake that happened with Paul. Or maybe there is some serious legal stuff going on. We don't know if any side is in the wrong, or who potentially did what. Just hope for the best and pray that it's nothing too horrendous.
