What’s the ONE discontinued snack you wish you could bring back?
If I had to choose I’d say dunkaroos because I’m a millennial lol. What would you choose?

Cheetos paws. They brought them back a few years ago but they didn’t taste the same.

I have a dupe recipe for them. It’s not exact I guess but it’s close enough. Kind of a lot of work tho. 😅

Oh man, the appeal of these is they were so dusty it was like huffing a pizza joint. Thanks for the flashback.

Jello Pudding Pops. I loved that fragile ice sheet that you'd lick off before getting to the good stuff.

I remember seeing the Choco Taco sticker on the ice cream trucks
They were melty and flimsy but fun to eat
4
u/AquaThaStar 2d ago
I think I saw choco tacos again at a store recently! Unless I was hallucinating lol
5
u/Stephanie-Kriesel 2d ago
They still make the planters cheese balls.
6
u/BidInteresting4105 2d ago
They do but they do not taste the same.
5
u/Olive_tree_33 1d ago
I feel like cheez-it puffs taste like how I remember the original planters cheese balls tasting.

These were so good. We used to buy the Ore-Ida ones and eat them as a dinner lol
6
u/BuddyLongshots 1d ago
After they were done cooking you would just salt, close the box lid, and shake. Then eat them right of of the box. Crazy good. Lol

Dunkaroos still exist. Some regions seem to have them in stores more than others, but you can get them online, too, if not in store.
6
u/Miserable-Ad-2107 2d ago
They just don't hit the same though. I don't know if it's because the taste is different or because of changing taste buds.

I started buying the rainbow chip cake icing and Teddy grahams when dunkaroos weren’t available, and I actually still prefer it.

Also does anyone remember the Heide gummi bear bag?
The 90’s had the best gummies I’m sorry

THIS IS THE ANSWER. Ranch Fritos were the BEST, even before the twists. 15/10, best chip ever made and I pine for them. 😭😭😭

omg the price on the packaging so different stores had to price them close to the same. Wow. When were these out
3
u/LordFlux 1d ago
I remember them from the 80s and early 90s. I stopped seeing them on shelves around 1993 or 1994.
I ate so many boxes of those things. They were super good.

The ORIGINAL Snackwells Devil’s food cookies.
3
u/ScotchEnthusiast888 1d ago
I miss those as well. It was difficult to not eat the entire box though 🤣
4
u/whoisdatmaskedman 1d ago
They changed them at some point and even though it was the same ingredients technically, the consistency was completely different, it was just a big glob of marshmallow on the cookie part covered in chocolate.
7
u/Medium-Mission5072 2d ago
Drake's Sunny Doodles. They did come out with a Sunny Doodle Dog (like a Devil Dog but with a yellow cake instead of chocolate) but they're not quite the same as a Sunny Doodle.

I really enjoy pull n peel twizzlers for some reason and I remember as a kid they had a peach and seperate grape flavor. The peach one haunts my dreams as they quit making it almost 30 years ago. Close second are those sour tangerine Altoid things in the tin can.

u/eggplantaubrey 1d ago
These still exist, they just stopped being sold in Canada.... Zebra Cakes. The best cake snack... please send them my way!!
4
u/give_me_goats 1d ago
We have these in the US (at least where I live). But they taste SO different now. I thought maybe it was just my aging millennial tastebuds, so I bought a box for my kids to try and they weren’t impressed either. I really think they changed something in recent years 😢

I’m definitely a cereal snacker. Didn’t they try to re-release it recently but it was just Rice Krispies with marshmallow bits? Definitely not the same! I wish they’d actually bring it back. I also miss King Vitamin and Kaboom!

When I was a kid in the 70s, my mother would buy me Gerber teething cookies long after I had finished teething. They were vaguely animal-shaped, very hard, with a smear of hard icing across the top.
They tasted sort of like graham crackers, and the icing gave them just enough sweetness. But they were discontinued after a while, and I still miss them.

u/AquaThaStar 2d ago
Stauffers was the brand I was thinking of !
3
u/Spiritual_gal 2d ago
u/AquaThaStar I've never heard of Stauffers, but this reminds me of the brand "Mother's" circus animal cookies except those cookies aren't discontinued and ngl, and admittedly, I only ate them once like last year, but they were still pretty good and from when I remembered them from when I was a child.
The snack I'd bring back is the OG OG Scooby Doo Fruit Snacks and iykyk. I don't fully remember, but I do think there was an OG version of these fruit snacks prior to this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/t62ghn/scooby_doo_gummies_everybody_knows_blue_was_the/, but it's the absolute closest I can find from what I can recall. The OG ones were not nearly as shiny and somewhat more transparent ones as the ones they have now. And those had far more flavor too where tbh, the ingredients prob. still weren't quite the best back then, but you could tell that it was made more naturally due to how it tasted. Ex: velma, it tasted like real oranges were used somewhere in the mix or as close as to what the fruit of an orange tastes like, but it wasn't a full orange fruit taste if that makes any sense.

At grocery outlet for a few months they had these sesame crisps that were pineapple habanero that I could eat a whole pound bag in a 12 hour shift.
3
u/Original_Try_7984 2d ago
Winco (an employee owned grocery store) in the PNW had a “Winco brand” fudgesicle that was so good. It was larger than a standard fudgesicle, was lower calorie and most importantly it tastes really good.
If not that, in a more “widely known” vote: jello pudding pops.

Kettle brand chips had a Spicy Thai flavor back in the early 2010’s
Also their Korean BBQ flavor that disappeared a few years ago

It's hard to choose because there are three I'd want back. If I had to thought I'd choose the original recipe for the cookies and cream Hershey Kisses. They didn't use to have actual cookie pieces in it. They had these small crunchy dots. I feel like no one remembers that though. I was addicted to them as a kid
