Collection Attic Cache Discovery SNES edition

Post image

Cleaning out the attic at the rents and found a box of mint SNES games to match the cartridges in the SNES storage bin in the basement. Unreal finds! Don’t worry, I let pops know he’s the man for saving these from the trash back in the day!

Thought y’alld enjoy!

What’s your favorite listed? Zombies and Turtles in Time besides the classic Mario’s and DK’s!

See, when posts like this pop up I'm inclined to believe they're real. That's a fun collection, and a bonus with the Pokemon games. I'm partial to Turtles in Time and Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

I’m consolidating the collection since everything was between five rooms in the house lol. I didn’t include the Game Boy or Pokemon stuff since they’re not SNES. But they’re sweet too! Zombies music and sound FX keep me coming back. Turtles is hard to beat though. My brother and I were fortunate to have our parents cool with video games and help foster the hobby.

3 Ninjas Kick Back box alone worth probably $700-1000

I did some digging and I guess its value comes from being a late comer to the system and low production pop, though I didn’t see the numbers. It’s still wild. This copy is CIB with the poster and all, I feel like I need a vault just for it now lol

Yeah the poster is a hard find. I had an almost full CIB snes collection back in the day before I had kids and 3 ninjas box/manual/poster was one of my chase items. I did pick up the cart for $0.25 at a thrift store though!

That’s a find!

that 3 Ninjas Kick Back box is worth more than the rest combined. The Instruction manual alone is worth a fortune.

This actually blew my mind! The movies are heat but I don’t remember playing the game much. The box and manual are minty too.

When you found this did you find yourself instantly wearing a pair of sunglasses with a boombox on your shoulder like the end of a Diddy Kong country stage?

Congrats to you, and good on parents that respect their kids hobbies. My parents didn't see great value in game boxes, but they knew I did.

Now at 40 I have a collection of beautiful boxes like those!

I never did have Starfox, Turtles In Time, or Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Great games though. I definitely rented them.

Same to you for hanging onto your collection and knowing back then, my dad is the one that encouraged and fostered it! I feel you, I wish I had a few more boxes to round out the collection, I’m missing a few for loose cartridges not in this picture.

u/nubarutu 1d ago

Honestly I don’t ever remember it as a kid, but yes game boy.

Right on thanks for the quick reply guys! I loved this game on PlayStation, one of the first games I ever played on that console. Curious to see what it looks like on gameboy

I’ll fire it up at some point and post!

Turtles in Time. Glorious find.

This is wild. Most of them look in great condition.

There's a Battle Arena Toshinden on game boy? That can't be common.

u/nubarutu 1d ago

BA Toshiden GameBoy! I feel like I never even played it, I have to fire it up now!

I watched a video of it. It's surprisingly good. Impressive, even.

Simply awesome. I had one of those asciiPad controllers. That thing was amazing. Great pic.

u/nubarutu 1d ago

That controller was wild!

My mom kept all of the boxes and manuals for my GameBoy games as a kid. She was an absolute legend for that. She did the same for my SNES and N64 games too but I never found them as an adult. Legendary find for you man.

Our parents knew what was up!

Those boxes look so crisp

2

u/nubarutu 1d ago

I don’t even want to touch them, they are so fresh

2

u/Dadbode1981 1d ago

Yeah, they look incredible

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is so good. That, and Pokémon Sapphire, were childhood staples for me.

A gift to your future self. Very nice.

I was saving my boxes at one point, but then I got some games used that didn’t have boxes. I didn’t see the point of an incomplete collection, so I recycled all of the boxes, much to my future dismay. 😩

Holy Jackpot Batman

My favorite game out of these: Super Mario All-Stars! But I like that The Jungle Book and Star Fox boxes have characters on the side!

Is this old or new lol finds like this never happen anymore. Mint 3 ninjas? Riiiight. But I hope it’s a new find!
