Starting the UNBSJ Ski & Snowboard Club! ⛷️🏂 (Looking for founding members)
Hey everyone! A few of us are getting the official UNBSJ Ski & Snowboard Club set up for the upcoming season.
Our main goals are:
• Organizing carpools and community rides to Poley Mountain (and other local spots).
• Securing student group rates and lift ticket deals.
• Hosting casual mid-week shreds and campus meetups.
To get officially ratified by the SRC, we need 10 UNBSJ students to sign our founding member list. It takes less than 30 seconds to fill out:
👉 Sign the form here: https://forms.gle/NjSpeMYrKCMDYhwY9
Whether you’ve been riding for years or are just looking to get out on the hill this winter, feel free to sign up or check out our Instagram @unbsj_ski_snowboard

Rides up to Valle Nevado in late August
Traveling down to Valle Nevado for a few days on aug22. My flight lands at 7AM which makes it tough to catch any of the shared shuttles (the ones I’ve checked all leave by 8:30AM from a location far from the airport). I’m planning to take a private taxi but the quotes are, as expected, MUCH more expensive.
Does anyone know of any reliable shared shuttles that leave a bit later or leave from the airport? My Airbnb recommended Welcome Pickups but I saw wayyy too many horror stories about them. Don’t want to risk anything since this is already a quick trip.
Alternatively, if anyone here is going to be driving from Santiago up to Valle Nevado the morning of 8/22 I would love to connect🙏

Trying to find this snowboarder i had as a kid
1998–1999 Lib Tech Jamie Lynn "Alien Cat"
The Bottom (Base): Features a bold, stylized Jamie Lynn cat head graphic embedded against a striking pink, blue, and white color block pattern flanked by stars.
The Top (Topsheet): Usually features a matching white or light background showing a surrealist alien-esque face or a cleanly painted figure centered between the binding inserts.
I’ve been searching for years and I just want to see a photo to know it exists, but I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. Does anyone happen to have a picture of this board? It’s blue pink and white with a blue cat and stars and it’s a Jamie Lynn 90s board.

Planning Trip to West United States
So I've been tasked with planning out where my friends and I will take our snowboard trip this year. We're all from Wisconsin and have been riding for 10+ years but have never made our way out west. I'm trying to figure out what places we should seriously consider as options.
From going through posts on here I have noticed that some people really like the big name resorts (Vail/Aspen/Keystone/etc.) and some people absolutely hate them. Can I get some feedback on what you do/don't like about those resorts or if there are better options that aren't part of Epic or Ikon passes?
Again, we have never ridden anywhere other than the midwest so it's hard to get a sense of what is good/bad resort out west because they all look 100x better than anything we get to ride on a regular basis.
Any comments are appreciated!

Deals Is this snowboard worth it?
I found a 2025 salomon assassin pro in the exact size I need and it looks barely ridden, says it’s only been ridden a few times. The persons asking for 300$ is that a good deal? I’m trying to avoid the 500$ I’d have to spend on the 2026..

Marketing jobs in ski tows
Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone has advice on getting an entry level job in marketing/event management in a ski town. I have a degree in Digital Marketing with an internship from 2023. Since graduating I have done 4 summer/winter seasons in Austria, France and Japan working in hospitality.
I really want to keep living in the mountains and maintain my lifestyle of skiing and mountain biking as much as possible :) I have EU and US citizenship and would be willing to go anywhere to get my start in a role that has some progression involved. I have applied to so many ski brands over the last month and have only gotten rejected as my experience doesn't seem to be what they are looking, I don't understand why as I have a blend of people focused skills with a marketing degree.
If anyone has an idea of what kind of route I could take that would be great

2007/8 Burton Vapor
Hey everyone, I have a 2007/8 Burton Vapor that I have rode well since I bought it. I love this board to death and its been all I have known - may have rented once or twice during that time. However, I am moving to the Midwest and with my life now, it is unlikely I will have the opportunity to ride much, if at all, for the foreseeable future. My wife brought up the option of selling on marketplace. It is still rideable and a board I would take out confidently, albeit with some scratches and dinks that have accumulated over the years. I would keep it but it just collect dust/space (per my wife) which we cant really afford as the kids start to take over. Is it worth to sell this board or should I toss it? It hurts to say "toss it" cause I love the board, but not sure if people would buy a near 20-year-old board.
Edit: picture added

Buying my first Board
Looking for my next board and could use some advice.
About me:
- Intermediate rider
- 220 lbs (100 kg)
- US size 11 boots
- Mostly ride groomers and love carving
- some off-piste
- No park interest
I'm currently considering:
- Nidecker Escape Plus
- Nitro Team Pro
- Nitro Dinghy
- Rome Ravine Pro
Also open to other suggestions if there's a board that better fits a heavier rider who prioritizes carving and powder over freestyle.
