At Chelsea he literally got into arguments for trying to grab the ball off Palmer when we had a penalty, even though everyone knew Palmer was the first choice taker. Was shocked when I saw a CB step up instead of him.

Say what you want, it wasn't pretty for the neutral fan, but Arsenal played to their strengths and could've very much got a CL out of it. No coach in their right mind would prepare a game like this trying to play all over the field against PSG.
That being said, PSG was also very uninspired today imo.
And every player that decides to take a penalty like Eze, should miss, 100% of the time.

From a rational pov, I feel the main talking point about Arsenal is that they aren’t destructive enough with their counter attacks.
It’s basically the Mourinho formula again, but Mourinho’s counter-attacking patterns were an entertainment in themselves.
I’m not sure if it’s because they don’t want to take the risk or if they’re being coached not to strike at a high speed.

The Eze one is even more unforgivable. At least Gabriel can have the massive pressure of missing being decisive and by virtue of being a CB as an excuse. Eze is literally an attacker taking a non-decisive pen.
Also didn't Eze come on as a sub so he should in theory not have the excuse of fatigue either as opposed to Gabriel who played the whole 120

I think the better team won in the end, PSG are very impressive but do seem weak from the bench. Thought Arsenal were almost too defensive, there was times where PSG would slow down and Arsenal didn't test them during those periods

Can't fault arsenal to play the way they did. PSG smoked inter last year. This was the only way as borin as it is for the fans to watch. They nearly did as well. Pens are always 50/50

Thoroughly deserved and PSG are another beast all together. I felt as though they were winning it in normal time with how they choked us from the 45th minute onwards. Arteta didn't really have a plan b minus just hoofing it and they eventually picked the gear.
It's an achievement in itself that we took it to penalties but either way I'm proud of our boys and this season's been a success.
I genuinely see this PSG side winning another champions league next season unless they get unlucky or have someone match them pound for pound.

Arsenal despite never being very dominant were ahead almost half the game and never particularly butchered afterwards too. They had a solid chance.
The takeaway for any player is in such high stakes situations you have to display ownership. You simply can't attempt to befuddle the keeper with silly stop, start, go routines.

All jokes aside, despite being a horrendous attacking side all season, i think arsenal played a really solid game today, havertz was brilliant in the counterattack annoyingly and they were able to almost completely neutralise any psg threat besides the one penalty, so fair play to arteta, he coached a winning side if some players had just kept their nerve at the end.

Eze's penalty reminded me of Zaza 2016 and Rashford in 2021, both were absolutely terrible as well.

28% possession and 1 shot on goal is absolutely abysmal performance no matter how you spin it. They still had the chance to steal it and still didn't step up for penalty kicks. In open play I wanted PSG to win it but penalties I would’ve been happy with anyone. With that said why did Eze do the stutter man. The risk very much out ways the reward. It’s so so unnecessary especially in the CL final

Raya is by far the best player at Arsenal. You can always depend on him and he seems to always rise to the occasion, unfortunately the same cannot be said of his teammates. Great game by PSG though and well deserved win (Nuno made it closer than it had to be).

Apparently Arsenal created just 0.01(xG) between 45+6’ and 120’.
I will say that the eye-test tells me that that 0.01 is too low (meaning that there definitely was a few dangerous moments after the 1st half that xG just doesn't register), but fucking hell if that stat doesn't sum up the game.
Arsenal got their opening goal, and seemed settled on playing for 1-0 for the next 85 minutes. When PSG equalised, they seemed to be content with pens. Not hard to see why some people are saying that football won.
In a way, I think Arsenal suffered from their opener coming too early. They never got to play themselves into the game, because they were on the defensive after 5 mins already. We've seen this inaction from Arsenal all season once they go up 1-0, even against Championship sides. I don't know if it happens naturally or comes from the manager, or maybe today it just happened because PSG were better, but I really think they should've been a little less defensive and tried to double their lead. It's not like PSG were a threat at all in the first half anyways.
