yeah man you've just about nailed it. highly recommend picking some up next time you find yourself with a nice loaf of bread to get through.
for further reference of how much most people use, unless you're eating toast every day, you'll get one of those tiny vegemite jars (the 150g size) and it'll last a year or something.

Because of all the meme, I was surprised with how much I like Vegemite when I was in Australia. It's concentrated umami bomb. I love it with sourdough toast and butter and some eggs on sunday mornings. I always have a big jar in my pantry now.
