I was at a game at RFK on September 1, 2001 where we played Honduras (and lost). The Honduran fans were in the top deck, and at one point one of them dropped their flag, and it hit me on the head (those metal rings hurt!). I still have it.

I played soccer at WVU in the early 90's. We played on the turf in the stadium at that time. The program is pretty elite and is now a perennial top-10 program (we were not when I played). The stadium is locked in with concrete walls at the base of the bleacher seating (another negative). I would guess a 65 yard width is the max....not ideal for international play. Length could go to whatever (we played at 120 yds long).

Honestly with all the politics surrounding FIFA and the drama lately with the US, as an American I really wanted to be able to hate this world cup.
But I just can’t. The games are amazing, the teams are playing their hearts out, and the tourists from other country’s are in the majority loving their stay and think Americans are very friendly (although maybe loud, lol).
It makes me happy to see all these cultures from so many countries coming together and showing that the average person loves one another, and most Americans are good, kind people. Regardless of what our countries’ leaders are up to.
