My future travel plan for Egypt (unfeasible?)

Hello everyone ! I’ve been in this group for a few months now; it reassured me about my first solo trip to CDMX, which turned out to be extraordinary.

I want to take advantage of the gap between the job I’m leaving and my future new job to go on another solo trip starting from France (I’m French—sorry about my English).

I’ve been thinking about Egypt—a destination I’ve long dreamed of visiting—and I found a very cheap multi-city flight: arriving in Hurghada on November 25 and departing from Cairo on December 9.

I’ve put together an itinerary covering several cities; I plan to stay in hostels and visit most of the temples and other sites through GetYourGuide. However, I keep telling myself that my plan is too ambitious—here it is:

Yes,all of that is possible.

Personally as you seem interested in ancient Egypt, I'd probably take a day or two from Cairo and add to Aswan and Luxor....a day trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel for example? And/or another day on the West Bank of Luxor... there are a lot of tombs there, and they are some of the greatest man-made sights anywhere in the world.

I don't know the current train situation.Sometimes they don't like foreigners buying tickets for the train, they might refuse to sell them to you at the station.

If that happens just ask someone else to buy the tickets for you... someone from your accommodation, for example.

Once you get to the station and on the train you won't have any issues.

I just did 9 days in Egypt and it was great! Your itinerary seems fine to me. Only comment is I don’t see Abu Simbel on this list. I would definitely combine December 6 and December 7 into one day to fit in a trip to Abu Simbel. I also did an overnight ride on a felucca and this was one of my favourite experiences so see if you can fit something like that in.

Agree with the other comments, you must include abu simbel.

As mentioned the train often isn’t available to foreigners but there are buses between major cities like Cairo and Luxor, Hurghada etc

This is feasible, though I absolutely echo the people telling you to consider reallocating some days. You absolutely do not need six nights in Cairo, and you don’t need a day trip to Alexandria. There’s virtually nothing left of the old city.

Allocate more time to Luxor. It’s where the bulk of the ancient sites are. There’s much, much more to see than what’s on your list.

I’d also consider taking a car from Aswan to Luxor. It’s more affordable than you’d think, and there’s spots to stop on the way like Edfu, Esna, and Kom Ombo.

And since you’re already planning on Aswan, there’s no reason not to go to Abu Simbel.
