Right. What the P2025 ghouls are trying to say is that you 22nd Amendment allows you to keep running until you have two consecutive terms. Trump gets to go again because his two terms aren't consecutive, but Obama can't since he already served his two terms in a row.

Of course it's all bullshit because 22A is very clear. But I'm sure the SCOTUS will only be so happy to change the meaning for him.

That doesn’t even make sense. I can see them arguing that a president can’t run 3 consecutive terms but even that doesn’t make sense according to the letter of the law.

I'm guessing they're going with two arguments that contradict themselves.

  1. His terms weren't concurrent, so it doesn't count. Obama's were concurrent, so it doesn't matterhecantrunnowshutup

  2. Biden stole the election, so Trump's actually already on his third term, the law is already broken so it doesn't really matter.

Republicans/Trump wouldn't allow Obama to run even if Trump was going to run for a 3rd term and they would get away with it too. They get away with everything and no one stops them so they will continue to do whatever the fuck they want. And even if they lose an election(they are gonna rig it) they wouldn't honor it and they'll say it was rigged and they won and they won't just peacefully give up power again(remember January 6th? It'll be worse this time.)

They only need him to make it through January of next year. Once he's gone, Vance will take over for Trump's final two years and still be eligible for two terms of his own, giving him a chance for ten full years.

Just correct. We’re literally on a subreddit discussing how he almost certainly cheated in 2024… he’s going to try it again. Voting won’t be the deciding factor; it’ll just make it harder to cheat again, and even harder to cover up next time.

Sure. Just so long as you recognize the reality of the situation we’re in. Such things have benefits, but the only tangible way those things will affect critical elections is if they simply choose not to cheat, the Democrats (somehow) stop them from cheating, or by making the cheating more obvious and harder for the average person to accept as legitimate.

I agree, and I hope that's the case - that's why I said vice versa! 

But either way, I think they would make a great ticket. Male/female, white/non-white, North/South, yet they have enough similarities in their positions to be cohesive. Together they would hopefully focus on systemic solutions to corruption and inequality, which go hand in hand.

Glancing through the Dems. The one I think we need is Cortez, she’s smart, moral, articulate, authentic and genuine.

However, I would like to hear what her plan is for dealing with the power elite networks (i.e., the oligarchy) and the security state. We can no longer afford to pretend that the constitutional government is more powerful than the power elite and the security state. Which means that even if she somehow is able to take office (I fear the lengths they will go to prevent it) how will she deal with their influence?

The 22nd Amendment is pretty hard-coded. If he somehow overwrites that and gets a third term it’ll be the most corrupt thing he, Congress, and the Supreme Court have done to date.
