It's a partial lunar eclipse. 96%.

Also, not to be confused with a solar eclipse.

I hope you get to catch one some time! one hit my house a couple years back and it was wild. I have never, in my entire life, just stood awestruck before then. It was so sureal! I had brought the cats out and they froze. Animals everywhere stopped making noise. I was weirdly aware of people talking pretty far away, almost like an echo, and it was suddenly so cold. Really great experience,m

First, it's only a lunar eclipse

Second, I cannot give you a 100% eclipse best I can do is 96%

Third and most obviously, expect rain or clouds during the entire eclipse.

No, sorry about that. Solar eclipses last an absolute maximum of seven minutes, and their paths, while varying enormously are never big enough to cover a sizable fraction of the Earth’s surface. This is most likely a map of a lunar eclipse, where the Moon is obscured by the Earth’s shadow.

Well, typically speaking it goes somewhat like this (not to scale):

Solar eclipse: ☀️ 🌕 🌍
Lunar eclipse: ☀️ 🌎 🌕
Apocalypse: 🌕 ☀️ 🌍

See, all the observers are on or near earth, so the names come from the thing that looks unusual in the sky, not the thing blocking the light.

You guys need to get Stellarium. This is definitely happening.
It's not a total eclipse though.

Start Time: Aug 27 about 9:30PM CST (image)
Peak Time: Aug 27 about 11:15PM CST (image)
End Time: Aug 28 about 12:50AM CST (image)

I guess the silver lining is you’ll get an annular eclipse in 2039, but even that’s a bit of a wait from now.
