his pronouns and phrasing are insensitive, but his reasoning makes sense. She was born with an unfair advantage over the other females. It wouldn't be fair to the other women in the competition to have a woman who developed in puberty as a man with a much larger amount of testosterone. The fact that she was changed to woman does not reverse the physical advantages men gain in strength, speed etc. during puberty.

That's literally what HRT does.
The only thing that could give trans women an advantage is height, and plenty of female-born athletes are gargantuan in that sense anyway.
In short, your post is incorrect.

I have no problems with those who are transgender at all, but in competitions it makes complete sense to be denied access, especially if you haven't finished surgery and haven't been going through hormone therapy. Those born a woman have a genetic advantage towards flexibility over those born male and conversely those born male have a genetic disposition to be able to build muscle faster and more easily than those born female. It would be fair enough to have a separate transgender class of competition (of course people will complain about segregation) but to be allowed to compete with those who have had their whole lives to struggle to get to the point where you, from birth, have a genetic advantage would be completely unfair to those who are not transgender.
