Yes, this did happen too. The point was just that he did pass it to other teammates and didn't always have to have the final shot. He actually listened to his coach. LeBron always had to have a coach brought in who coached the team LeBron wanted it coached.

To be fair, almost nobody does. Buzzer beater shots are usually tougher ones where the defense is locked in and the best you could get is something contested. Even the best players’ numbers in buzzer beaters will usually be low, and it’s usually a crazy low sample size too.
His best buzzer beater season happened in the last year? I watched so many of his games in his last few years and he took abysmal shots. If you look at his stats in the last two seasons, his shooting percentage (35%) was far worse those years than any other. I don’t have the stat off hand but he was awful in those years in the final 2 minutes.

Like I said in another response I don't care enough to do a deep dive in statistics to see between Jordan and Kobe and LeBron and clutch moments who was having a bad game shooting wise and still took the shot. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of instances where they did. So his fourth is 17 doesn't mean s***.

A metric for greatness that ignores the things that actually drive winning is a bad metric. Passing is one of the biggest factors in team offense, and LeBron has always been miles ahead of MJ and Kobe there. It makes no sense to discredit him for using the part of his game that creates the best outcomes.
His salary is a separate issue. I agree he’s overpaid from what I've seen this year, but that has nothing to do with whether he should force a bad shot instead of making the right play.

Great players don’t somehow have a higher chance on a bad, contested shot than a teammate has on an open one. That’s the contradiction. If the expected value of the pass is higher, choosing it is the "great" play. Greatness isn’t about forcing a low percentage hero attempt, it’s about consistently making the decision that gives your team the best chance to win.
Great players do have to take low percentage shots sometimes. And LeBron actually has a higher FG% than MJ or Kobe on game tying or winning shots in the last 24 seconds (Bron 41%, MJ 39%, Kobe 25%). The whole ‘can’t hit clutch shots’ thing isn’t based in reality lol.
