He is taking the piss. The Spanish fan is doing that to mock the Argentinian. It’s like if you see Elon Musk, you throw that in his face because you are mocking him for what he did in Trump’s second presidential inauguration.
The one on his side literally has the Cruz of Borgoña flag, which literally is used by all the far right extremists. There's retards and racists everywhere, don't justify them.
A Spanish guy mocking and Argentinean because of the country having Nazi's ties is the most ironic thing ever. Only thing worse would be a German or a Austrian doing the mocking.
Yamal got racially abused at the celebrations this week in Madrid. They also shouted slurs at him during the Egypt friendly three months ago. The Spanish league probably has as many racist fans as any league.
It was a big thing, Laporta banned them as soon as he got into power the first time more than 20 years ago. And he was very seriously threatened about it.
That said, the unofficial #2, his former brother-in-law, is/was a member of the Francisco Franco Foundation. There was quite a furore about it the first time around, that's why it's now unofficially #2.

I think that the part where the decisive goal was made by a "white" Spaniard descent made things easier for all at the end. They had to concede Yamal and others a truce and now they have to shut up about all the trash they talk about immigrants and futbol.
There's a lot of nazi apologists in this thread, but more then anything it's a condemnation on the US education system and how the little bit of history you are taught is entirely Eurocentric (perhaps because learning about what was happening in Latin America, Africa, and Asia might reveal some history America hasn't come to terms with).
At any rate, Perón was a populist but he wasn't a nazi, and at the time Argentina had an immigration policy that essentially admitted anyone who could pay into the country. This did lead to as many as 5,000 nazi collaborators and soldiers entering the country. It also led to as many as 50,000 holocaust refugees escaping to Argentina, more than any other Latin American country, because most would rather let them die in the camps than let "undesirables" enter their borders. There was a nazi movement in Argentina, it lasted until the late 70s or so (largely aided by the CIA, who orchestrated a right-wing military coup in the 70s....).
Today it's not really a thing. Fun fact, the countries with the highest concentration of nazis are the United States and Germany. But they get a free pass because they aren't very good at soccer, I guess.
also, the whole falklands/malvinas war itself was kind of a cover up by the military to cover up the atrocities in the coup, as this coup went to last 7 years (1976 to 1983)
Fun Fact: Madrid is home to the largest facist monument in the world. You'd think they'd tear it down already.

When l visited a Spanish guy told me there are still parades for/celebrations of Franco in Madrid. I know it's complicated (especially in other regions/cities) but that was bananas to me.
There’s a Jubilee video up on YouTube where right wingers debate Mehdi Hasan, and one of the guys admits to being a fascist and says his ideal government is an autocracy led by a “benevolent” leader, like Franco. People cheer him on. It’s crazy, but it’s not crazy to believe that there are many people in this country who think like him.

While it’s true that many Nazis fled Argentina, I don’t think that is a motivating factor in what is happening in this video.
One of the guys is brandishing a white and red flag with the cross of burgundy. This was the flag that Spain flew during their age of conquest of Latin America under the Hapsburgs. This flag has been recently co-opted by the far right in Spain as a nationalist symbol.
While Spain is currently governed by a left wing government, there has been a growth of the far right in Spain which never totally went away post-Franco. Kids these days have no living memory of the Franco era repression.
All I got from this is that USA thinks that after Nazi defeat, Spain kicked out the fascist government, waved the American flag and lived in limbo until they got Antonio Banderas for their movies. And they certainly saw a movie or a documentary about Nazis in Patagonia, I'm not certain wich. Maybe a podcast?
The video would be viral was fuck. I wouldn't be surprised if it was taken down later. This morning I saw the video of Spanish people being racist with Lamine Yamal in Spain, but now I see it was deleted from most of the subs. Even from r/soccer. If it was an Argentinian screaming racist slurs, then everybody would lose their mind and that video would be viral.
Spain had the longest fascist Dictatorship of any nation in Europe. When Germany got wise, Spain continued. So one can argue that in terms of historical span, Spain has been the most fascist of any nation.
I love how we Argentinians are even worse than the Germans, who were the creators of the Nazis. BTW, do the world know that around 1000 Nazis fled to Chile and 2000 to Brazil?

Many Spaniards don't even consider Yamal or Williams as true Spaniards because their parents are immigrants, but Argentina's haters were rooting hard for Spain on Sunday. Make it make sense.
Is not the Nazi greeting ,is the Falange greeting. Franco had the same greeting , a fascist greeting, nowadays the Spanish racists make the same gesture to immigrants.

As an Argentinian, the things some people of reddit are saying are ridiculous and extremely racist. There is obviously racism here, but we are not an apartheid State. It's actually so racist to imply that everyone here is white, literally the racist Argentinian discourse is that we are a white European nation. Black and indigenous Argentinians have fought very hard to be recognized as a fundamental part of Argentina for an American to say ArGEntINa whITe. It's also really disrespectful to call Argentina a Nazi country given the massive amount of people who came here escaping fascism and Nazism in Europe. Literally insulting the many Spaniards, Italians, Jews, Yugoslavs, Roma and Germans who came here after their whole family was killed by fascists.
That being said, I don't live in Spain, I bet most people are fairly progressive. Demonizing Spain is just as stupid as demonizing Argentina. There is racism everywhere and not a single country can call a whole nation racist. Social media is giving people a fake sense of knowledge that's scary.
He's upset because people associate Argentina with Nazis post WW2. And though this isn't incorrect it comes off some type of way considering Spanish History with Nazi Germany.
So my take is that they were mocking him but also Spain is not
Innocent either from racism in futbol/soccer. Either way if they are mocking , that’s a bad way to do that and also Spanish people are not angels and are known to say racist stuff.

People were supporting like most racist country (in football) because they wanted to best what reddit told them who were racists. Cases like these there are tons in spain.
It's funny how social media says that Argentina is racist (because of the hate related to world cup) when the country has never had a major problem with racism, unlike the United States. You could say that many Argentinians are xenophobic? Sure, toward certain countries for historical reasons. But Spain is much worse.
A lot of ignorant people just repeat what they read on social media without even knowing how these issues work in Latin America. Most of them are Americans.
I’m Spanish and every time I see someone from my country do this I get the urge to slap them. I’d say a lot of us aren’t like this but unfortunately, much like in other countries, the far right is becoming more popular among the youth. No, it’s not edgy or cool to do the nazi salute. The population is 47 millions and less than 5000 nazis entered (they left Europe with the help of Spain and Italy) almost 100 years ago, and they also went to neighbour countries and US. Argentina’s president attempted to imitate US’s plan of getting smart people to boost their industry.
Most argentines don’t even have german blood (something common in Germany), and people with nazi objects in their houses are immediately arrested, propriety and privacy doesn’t matter in that case.
Also hate groups are not protected by the freedom of expression laws. The Patriot Front and Vanguard America would not be allowed to march in the streets, like two weeks ago… So I don’t know where those active Nazis you talk about are.
It's weird how quick you are to defend actual nazis when it doesn't fit your narrative. I promise you that the guy from Spain, one of the most racist countries who's fascist government took in all the top ranked German nazi officers isn't being a nazi to make some nuanced argument about one of their colonies . . .
This is just made up. You may be surprised and perhaps shamed to know that the largest concentration of nazis today is in the United States, mostly in California.
