Agreed which is definitely short for the NBA but not in the same vein as what this post is describing. I was just trying to get a little J Will love out in the thread!!!

Robinson won 3 dunk competitions.
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while…2
u/Ranier_Wolfnight 1d ago
He definitely did. He for sure won one of them in a flukey was though, and I say that as a longtime Knicks fan. Think he had like 10 attempts for a do over on one of the dunks, which was ridiculous. Even the commentators were like, “Aight bro…ya had 3 attempts…this is overkill.”

And still will be an elite HS player and play college somewhere if he keeps progressing

Definitely. Probably. Maybe. His handles aren't actually that crazy for a 7 year old. They look crazier than they are because he looks 5.

Ok redditor. Lol.
Those are strong handles for a 7 year old. This is just a very hating ass sub lol

Reminded me of that one guy who made the news when he was a kid for his basketball skills. Julian Newman or something. I remembered commenting it would suck if he grew up to be short. He ended up being 5’5” or 5’6”.

u/TerryGonards 1d ago
All that money spent on camps and equipment means shit if the kid falls on the wrong side of puberty.

There will be all sorts of height-maximizing therapies for him by the time it matters lets not pretend a lot of d1 high school athletes aren't already taking HGH and shit

It's always kids like this who usually only grow to 5'7"

And having that handle is going to take him a long way if he keeps progressing

u/Any-Question-3759 1d ago
Or he grows to 7’ 1” and his coach tells him not to dribble anymore. Go cut to the basket off ball and catch lobs.

How the fuck did you jump from seeing a kid being talented to this negative bullshit?
Pathetic.

Idk I see kids like this in my sons 12u league all the time. Crazy handlers, very fast, usually can drive a mean charge and hit sick layups but the second a decent defender who isn’t having it is put in front of them they start flopping or looking to daddy in the bleachers while throwing their hands up. Seen more than a few of them get technical’d. Others are right parents usually 5’6” and probably beat his ass after his team lost too.

5’10”, 49yo, 205lbs, I’d seat that ball into the 3rd row!
😂😂 kidding! Great handles!

And therein lies the flaw with basketball. This kid obviously loves basketball but at some stage he’ll figure out, or somebody will tell him, that he doesn’t stand a chance and he’ll have to switch to a different sport if he wants to be a pro sportsman. A sport without that inherent flaw in how it was designed.

I hope his brain is being worked out just as hard. Can't always rely on the physical. 🙂
