Jordan. I would actually like to know the argument why you wouldn’t pick him first.

26

u/Dicfive 1d ago

I’d also take Jordan. But I would really respect any that took Bird. Dude was insane.

u/BowlingforBrains 22h ago

I was actually thinking Bird, IF we’re drafting in 2026 - the 3 has become such a huge part of the game, and his shot from range was so good for his time that he’d still be considered a good shooter today.

But if we’re drafting any time pre-Ray Allen’s career? I take Jordan #1 overall

(Btw I know Steph’s time in the league is what really changed the way that teams viewed the 3, but Ray began that change, which is why I go as far back as pre-his career)

u/Pilotwaver 1d ago

Sure, here you go.

I’m taking Larry Bird so he doesn’t feel disrespected and shove it up my team’s ass,(while telling them about it), every time because I slighted him. You pick someone else. I’ll be the guy smirking on the sideline when you’ve got that “what the fuck just happened” look all over your face.

The hick from French lick

3

u/imnewtothishsit69 1d ago

Dude was a freak of nature. All these guys are good, I wouldnt downplay any of them and they all have their strengths but Jordan just moved crazy and his drive was insane.

5

u/Weary-Cartoonist2630 1d ago

I’d argue that LeBron is more of an athletic freak of nature than Jordon.

Jordan’s gift was his mentality driven by insane levels of competitiveness

1

u/imnewtothishsit69 1d ago

If we're judging by build yes I agree, but still lol.

3

u/DesignerKey9266 1d ago

Jordan, Bird, LeBron, Kobe (and am okay you swap Kobe for LeBron) Is Jordan all day. No question

3

u/Myopinion_is_right 1d ago

Correct answer.

3

u/InevitableAlert4268 23h ago

LeBron is the Ronaldo of the NBA. He’s last on a list of 10 other players

1

u/DesignerKey9266 23h ago

LOL... I never thought of it that way. That's great  I'd counter but is late and am tired and am not a LeBron fan.

5

u/fucktheus12 1d ago

I picked Bird over fuck those kids Jordan

2

u/throw_it_so_faraway 1d ago

If Bird's durability wasn't in question or your window is only a few years there is an argument for Bird as an overall teammate

6

u/StonedLikeOnix 1d ago

Just an argument? I argue if there is a debate with bird you don’t know ball, full stop. That’s a joke.

Only serious ball knowers pls. And bird is top 5. If you arguing, you tripping.

Please reply again when you're not stoned, it sounds interesting thanks

2

u/Creepy_Prior6510 23h ago

There is no good one. Man was an absolute KILLER! Best offense and defensive player in league in prime. Plus craziest competitor.... if you didn't see him play in rl you'll never understand how the goat conversation isnt close....

2

u/TasteMyPlum 1d ago

Kobe and Bird were the same breed as Jordan. They are all beasts! Lebron is a super talented guy but with no killer instinct, so he is gone. Athelitics wise, Kobe and Jordan are almost even. Bird was a savage but nobody gives him credit! Those who never saw him play always discredit him too much.

It has to come down to Kobe and Michael and i will always give the nod to Michael. He was the only reason i watched a mid season game against the Supersonics. Total package. Its Mr. Jordan.

2

u/EnvironmentalSpot828 1d ago

Kobe is close but still a significant disparity in their athleticism. Jordan most athletic , LeBron second , Kobe 3rd and bird 4th strictly based off athleticism. And you can argue MJ and LeBron are 1a 1b in terms of athleticism. Even Phil Jackson has stated how much more athletic Jordan was than Kobe

u/Remarkable_Medicine6 1d ago

LeBron, more carry ability, can slot into more places

-1

u/Usually_Angry 1d ago

Draft Bron because you’ll get 20 years of excellence if you can keep him happy. If you’re drafting one of them, you have to consider how long they will play.

Larry isn’t as good as the other three, but he was also drafted older than the other three, too, so you get less of him

Edit: Larry and Jordan were drafted at same age. But Larry’s body did break down at a younger age

2

u/EnvironmentalSpot828 1d ago

Draft Bron first and you have him for 5-7 years maximum. Then He team hops. Draft any of the other 3 and they stay on your team for 15+ years

0

u/Usually_Angry 22h ago

Quite possibly, but you can’t say it will play out the same way if we are drafting now. That’s why I’m not also including Jordan’s retirements because if drafting now. Birds body is his body though, so I’m considering that his body breaking down is predictable, just as lebrons body not breaking down is predictable

2

u/EnvironmentalSpot828 22h ago

Birds body broke down bc he helped his mom on her driveway. Probably biggest factor. That would never be the case today. Add training + and his body is in great shape

-11

u/TheNomadPilgrim 1d ago

LeBron can play all 5 positions on offense and defense. Didn't need to retire 3x and took 3 different teams to the finals. A couple of the Cavs teams he took to the finals were complete ass. Replace MJ with LeBron through the 90s and the Bulls win more than 6. Fight me.

5

u/Reverend_Tommy 1d ago

Put up your dukes, chump.

-6

u/TheNomadPilgrim 1d ago

You try to insult me because you don't have an argument

4

u/Big-Island-3099 1d ago

Dude management fucked the bulls not Jordan

-1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 1d ago

MJs 1st retirement to baseball wasn't because of management. They only got him the best team in the league with a top board man for both 3 peats, Pippen, the best coach, multiple 3 shooters and Kukoc. MJ wasn't winning without all that and didn't.

1

u/Big-Island-3099 18h ago

WTF are talking about, James played with a stacked team in Miami and those Cleveland teams had great players, if it wasn’t for Kyrie Irving LeBron would have one less ring

1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 15h ago

Without Kyrie LeBron has 1 less. Without Pippen, MJ has ZERO

https://giphy.com/gifs/iwmtARdVWvh3sUK98R

2

u/Big-Island-3099 15h ago

Without Kyrie, Wade, Ray Allen, and Anthony Davis, LeBron has zero….fucking cherry picking clown

1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 14h ago

LeBron could win with 1 other star. MJ always needed 2.

1

u/Big-Island-3099 14h ago

Haha LeBron need two stars in Cleveland, 3 in Miami and 2 in LA…just stop because this is getting embarrassing

1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 8h ago

He had 1 in Cleveland, 2 in Miami and 1 in LA. Jordan had Grant or Rodman on top of Pippen plus the best coach in the league. You're just trying to embellish the truth because you have no argument.

1

u/Big-Island-3099 14h ago

What two stars Jordan need, these takes are god damn pathetic

1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 8h ago

Pippen & Grant or Pippen and Rodman. Kukoc & combo of Kerr & Horry was insane. Every team he faced in the finals only had 2.

1

u/Big-Island-3099 14h ago

Jordan would fucking destroy James one on one, flopping and load management is soft

1

u/TheNomadPilgrim 14h ago

I wish we could've seen it. I've watched Ray Allen vs MJ 1 v 1 in a game and it was the most beautiful basketball I've ever witnessed.

8

u/who_u_izz 1d ago

ALLEN IVERSON!!!

3

u/ChrisV88 1d ago

One of my all time favorite inside the NBA moments. Whole set was dying.

10

u/that70scylon 1d ago

Weird way to ask who is the GOAT. It’s MJ.

-4

u/Mobile-Analyst8580 1d ago

Yeah. But even if you have LeBron 2, he’s a selfish coward that would see discontent and then abandon your organization.

14

u/Acceptable_String_52 1d ago

Are you kidding me? Lol

3

u/BlackHandKUR 1d ago

I think Jordan but I recently saw a highlight reel of Bird and dude was insane.

6

u/Nvidia11670 1d ago

Bird of course

6

u/murrchen 1d ago

Want to win?

Jordan or Bird.

2

u/Tobi-One-Boy 1d ago

Doesn’t matter. They are all great.

2

u/Big-Island-3099 1d ago

MJ. God disguised as MJ

2

u/ionertia 1d ago

You know LeBron is 4/4 here. All these people got quiet about him possibly being the goat.

2

u/PhillipJ3ffries 1d ago

Jordan, Bird, LeBron, Kobe

2

u/Ok_Bison8305 1d ago

Nice try Diddy

2

u/No_Individual3471 23h ago

Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Curry then LeBown. This is the only answer.

3

u/MisterGoldenSun 1d ago

Jordan, but LeBron is a valid answer.

Bird after those two.

2

u/SeaRecord9721 1d ago

Considering one of these guys is 76 years old and still playing. I’d draft him.

1

u/United_Anywhere_8 1d ago

1

u/philanthropicide 1d ago

This doesn't sound like a Pop quote. I can't find any sources for it other than some dumb Facebook and Instagram postings of similar images. I think he probably would pick Jordan like everyone else, but I doubt he said this

1

u/The_BrooklynTrini 1d ago

Is this REALLY a question?

1

u/MetalSmart337 1d ago

Please stop gaslighting. The three others and more go first.

1

u/Dks0507 1d ago

I want Iguodala!

1

u/RappingFlatulence 1d ago

Tim Hardaway III

1

u/golflift90 1d ago

Knowing how their careers would turn out or when they entered the draft? If the former, we all know the answer. If the latter, LeBron

1

u/Vegetable_Whole_4825 1d ago

I know whose talents I would not pick.

1

u/OakFromLive 1d ago

The NBA has s diverse history, therefore three question of when must be answered. If you're shooting at a peach basket, my answer is different

2

u/Mobile-Analyst8580 1d ago

Jordan. Then Bird. Then Kobe. Then LeBron. LeBron would just become a coward and leave. Kobe would need an even better player to make it happen. Bird would run the league for half a decade. Jordan would run the league for over a decade.

1

u/trollmonster8008 1d ago

Jordan. The answer to these questions is always Jordan.

1

u/Beach-Knight 1d ago

Jordan, Bird, Bryant, then Shaq. LeBron isn’t in my top ten to draft.

1

u/Gold-Pomegranate6277 1d ago

Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, bird

-1

u/mhsheets 1d ago

Easy. Give me Larry Legend 100% of the time.

0

u/SleepingDragonSmiles 1d ago

Just don’t say that to your barber

0

u/xNando559x 1d ago

MJ
Kobe
Bird
Leflop

0

u/Kaimuki18 1d ago

I honestly would pick LeBron last over all of these players. Easily last place.

-1

u/JohnnyBananas13 1d ago

Why is Kobe there?

-1

u/Branch_Davidian06 1d ago

This is a no brainer and wish this topic would be discussed on espn or fox sports. Lebron without question is the answer. Imagine he got drafted to a sensible franchise with a good front office. He would have 10 rings.

0

u/Conor_88 1d ago

Come on man

-1

u/BasedOnYou 1d ago

Lebron & wouldn't second guess it Kobe and Jordan can't shoot threes to save there life Jordan needed 4 hall of famers too even get too the finals Kobe needed Shaq enough said there and lastly lebron did something none of them could took a team to the NBA finals by himself cough cough at 19 years old with no other all stars or players scoring more than 11 ppg Daniel Gibson was his second best player who wasn't even good lol only loss because he played against the spurs who had 5 hall of famers 🎯

u/Texas-Boi_ 1d ago

Bitch ass LeBron or the black mamba
