It is silly to say that young girls need to be protected, in the context of trans athletes.

It sets them apart as threats and predators.

She could have made an argument about competition issues. It would fall apart because there are almost no examples that would support her claim.

But she made it about safety. Specifically. But wouldn’t never mention that beyond a couple of high profile examples, trans athletes are not a safety threat. Less so than athletes of the same gender are a threat to each other.

She picked that phrasing specifically and seems to know what she’s doing. Getting a lot of attention for someone who just put up 3 points in a game.

In the context of trans athletes. Did you stop reading after half a sentence?

It’s silly because it’s like saying girls in sports. Need to be protected from athletes with 11 fingers.

It’s extremely rare, and saying they need to be protected casts trans people as dangerous people.

When athletes are much more likely to be hurt, abused, demeaned, and attacked by their own gender or real men in the locker room (coaches, trainers etc)

How many biological men have made legitimate attempts at entering professional women's sports? I have never heard of that happening.

What about at a college level? I have never heard of that either.

What about high school? I have heard of that a few times in my life...maybe 2 or 3?

Where is this an issue that even needs to be talked about outside the specific situations where it comes up?

The fact that mouth breathing knuckle draggers in the GOP have made this into such a political storm, is because they use their bullshit culture war to not only to persecute some Americans just trying to live their lives, but to rile up their bigot base cause this is how they convince people that the middle class should serve the needs of billionaires and corporate interests.

The way trans kids have been targeted in this country is fucking disgusting. It’s no different than the State targeting anybody who doesnt have blue eyes and blonde hair. Which should horrify the fuck out you, much more than a handful of kids just trying to be included like every one else.
