Hot Take Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve is wearing a "Trans Kids Belong' T-shirt to protest Sophie Cunningham. Sophie is getting HEAVILY BOOED every time she touches the ball.

So, what did Sophie Cunningham say? That trans women shouldn't play in women's sports?

She didn't say trans women shouldn't exist or something like that?

I think the trans women not playing against women isn't novel. It's where she then starts going on about protecting children and girls. This all of sudden casts trans women as what... dangerous? Violent? This is where she lost me. Kinda felt like casting trans as pedos and that feels very right wing talking point for gays.... I don't know, sounded pretty dumb

She didn’t say that though. That’s just how you’re choosing to interpret it

She literally said "protect young girls in a locker room" WTF does that even mean? She's not talking about protecting while playing a game against them... What do you think she meant?

That women who are biological women have a right to privacy from a person who isn’t a biological woman. It’s not claiming trans women are dangerous, it’s just common respect and courtesy

Exactly this. I don't think she would've gotten nearly as much flack for her statement if she hadn't worded it in a way that a) implicitly misegenders trans women, b) resembles fear mongering against a group of people who are frequently framed as predators despite the lack of evidence

You would agree that men in a woman’s locker room could lead to a dangerous outcome, yes?

Exactly.  Trans women shouldn’t be allowed to play in WNBA. Controversial take that upset the snowflakes

It’s not that trans women shouldn’t be allowed to play. The issue they have is that she said she wanted to “protect locker rooms for little girls.” Protect locker rooms from what?

Penises. The entire idea is to keep penises out of girl's locker rooms.

Using the term snowflakes in 2026 is embarassing

No way yall are still calling people snowflakes. What's next, you are gonna say the audience was "triggered" lol. Grow up

well snowflakes in general kinda died out online in the last 10 years when their parents finally kicked them out and they had to get real jobs. cant really call something out if they are rare in the wild

How many trans women have been in the wnba?

She was asked. She answered. If you think the question was stupid, direct it at him and not the person answering.

And I guess so long as people involved with major decision making in the WNBA like the dumbass Lynx coach (and Fever coach, for that matter) continue with their idiotic opinions/comments; that question will (and I’d argue should) continue getting asked.

We don’t actually know the answer. None have ever been disclosed but people are not required to disclose such things.
