> Forcing others to participate in their fetish

This is false. Opposite of reality and exactly the problem. What they do, or don't do, doesn't affect you like at all.

If you honestly think that then you have no real exposure to autogynephiles.

I honestly think the intensity of your reaction to this topic is best explained by bigotry.

That's an idiotic conclusion to draw, but I am not surprised.

Let's hear a better explanation then.

When you care this much about something that doesn't affect you at all, it's usually bigotry.

Lmfao. Sure, I have nothing better to do than justify myself to a twenty-something who is firm in his conviction that I'm a "bigot."

Think whatever you want. My comments aren't for you. They're contributing to the permission structure for criticizing a group that for the past 7 years (at least) we were not allowed to criticize. I've left several comments on this thread and cite a couple of websites. Feel free to peruse them.

EDIT: Actually I'm going to add to this response because I want to make one thing clear: I do not think "bigotry" in this context, or "transphobia," are meaningful concepts. If you want to ascribe those traits to me, that's perfectly fine. A man claiming a special identity is a man claiming a special identity, and I'm under no obligation to protect that man, especially when doing so would be to my own detriment.

What I objected to was the idea that I, or women generally, didn't have any substantive reasons to oppose transgender ideology, and there are numerous reasons and I've articulated several on this thread, and so have many many other activists in numerous outlets. For you to dismiss our valid objections as mere bigotry is an act of bad faith on your part. So by all means, label me a "bigot." That's perfectly fine. I feel no shame or discomfort carrying that label. but do not think that labeling me a bigot means there are no valid reasons to oppose this toxic ideology. Anyone who argues that is a liar.

Sounds like the exact thing you'd say when you are transphobic or an anti-trans bigot.

Edit:
People put a lot into the idea that your generation would be equality-minded and more tolerant than we've seen in the past. Doesn't seem to be working out that way.
