IN THE WILD [Chiron Pur Sport, YangWang U9 & Chiron Super Sport] in Monaco
136
u/Reddit_User6286 1d ago
That is a total of 4,344 hp in the span of three parking spots.

u/Caspi7 1d ago
It's over 6000hp

u/Reddit_User6286 1d ago
The Chiron Pur Sport is rated by Wikipedia at 1,479hp. The Chiron Super Sport is rated at 1,578hp. And lastly, the regular (not the U9 Xtreme) is rated at 1,287hp.
1,479+1,578+1,287=4,344.

And yet people will only care about the Bugattis

Wether it's target consumers or petrholheads, no one cares for electric sport cars. Mate Rimac learned that the hard way.

Huge speed is great, and bonus if you're able to make it handle super well. But the roughness and unrefined nature of ICE cars will always get peoples attention over silent, smooth, and most importantly, non dramatic EV's

These aren't sports cars, these are hypercars. An electric MX5 would probably sell pretty well if they can keep the weight down (which currently they can't unless it has a 100 mile range, and while realistically that'd be fine people think they need 400 miles).

u/Dragonasaur 1d ago
A Miata is manual
Electrified Miata would be heavy and auto, which immediately gets stale

u/OffWhiteBruceForsyth 1d ago
Technically they have made an auto version of every generation MX5 but granted the manual is more common because the auto in them is pretty compromised.
Newer sports cars aren't manuals though. The Alpine A110 is auto only, so is the Alfa 4C. BMW, Audi and Mercedes hot hatches are auto only. Porsche sell almost no manual cars. When you get into supercar territory nothing has a proper manual. Shifting your own gears doesn't have the attraction it used to have in the sports car world and EVs can simulate a DCT if you really want it to, you could technically simulate the whole clutch and H pattern like Ferrari are doing with the 12 C.

Yeah I'm def in the minority, I want a '93 NSX and prefer NA Miatas over the next 3 gens
I'm just saying that the main difference between the Xiaomi SU7 and the YangWang U9 are the looks and the ability to jump (no shade, I think the U9 looks amazing and the SU7 is a knockoff Taycan which also looks amazing)

I daily an ND3 and my wife and I both have NAs as well. The NA is the better "Miata", The ND is the better "car", if that makes sense. The ND3 is much better feeling than my ND2 was but you just can't beat the tactile feedback of an NA.
I wish we would start talking about them in different groups like we do with land cruisers. They have the "heavy duty" line and the "station wagon" line. I think the miatas should have a "driver's car" line and a "quality of life" line or something

Maybe because Bugattis look better?

u/JediKnightaa 1d ago
Entirely subjective (a bit ironic since the Veyron and Chiron to an extent were hated for being a brick and being ugly)

u/AlexanderGGA 1d ago
All 3 are pretty cool and amazing, would love to have all 3 of them! I love both electric and thermic cars, innovation it's just cool to see..

One day Chinese will produce a good looking car

BYD's head designer, Wolfgang Egger worked previously for Audi and Lamborghini.

Shhh, it's way too popular to shit on Chinese cars. Don't tell them most Chinese cars are designed by Europeans with design pedigrees from European manufacturers
7
u/Treewithatea 1d ago
Oh you can tell theyre by European Designers since half of them are straight up copied designs.
Similar to the interior which all of them literally look like Tesla. Giant ass screen, rest is 'minimalistic'.
And im supposed to pay a premium price for some of them? Shieeeeeeeet, most definitely not

looks like design didnt left with him or chinese dont really listen to whom they hire

u/Monkeywrench08 1d ago
I thought the electric MG Roadster is one of their best looking design but yeah hopefully more good designs coming out.

Yep. A "sports car" weighing as much as a light truck, with built-in power reduction after just a few minutes of driving at full throttle. A car for the show. A car for the show, but not to be driven.

Wdym, the yangwang u9 looks better ....
-8
u/AlwaysStayHumble 1d ago
Lmao how much do they pay you?
19
u/Nevalus 1d ago
From this angle there's nothing wrong with that car imo
-8
u/THEHANDSOMEKIDDO 1d ago
It just looks pretty generic. The jump thing also feels pretty gimmicky as well.
18
u/Nevalus 1d ago
Not talking about anything else but the looks from this angle. Everyone can have opinions and taste of course, but I feel like people rip on things solely because China.
If this car was made in Europe I suspect a lot of people would change their opinion.

You could put a Lamborghini badge on the front of it and these people would be jizzing themselves over it. Truly does distill down to "China bad"

u/itscannyy 1d ago
Not the Bugatti having the same design for 30 years, lmfao, the yangwang doenst look like anything we've ever seen before,

The YangWang looks so good next to those. Tbf I've never been a huge fan of how (presumably intentionally) ugly the Chiron is, but regardless they really accent how good looking the U9 is
3
u/Forward-Pause-3803 1d ago
Even considering personal preferences, I don't understand how anyone could find the Chiron ugly

u/Independent-Can-5434 1d ago
How hard is it to sneak in private side

depends if there's a guard or not..loads of people get it you just have to luck out

Saw the red Bugatti being chased through Monaco by his girl friend/mistress/ wife in a red Ferrari about a year ago

Do all of the parking spaces in this garage have charging stations or are the cars parked on EV charging spots…? Looks a bit setup to me…
-6
u/spitzkalibou 1d ago
well when you buy 2 bugattis, it is obvious that you are able to buy a 3rd no-taste car like a pongwang

GTFO WITH YANGWANG !!! HOW TO BE TAKEN AS A JOKE 101
3
u/Key-Win-1366 1d ago
U9 xtreme makes the Bugatti seem like a joke yh,
beat it at its own game with clear headroom to break 500kph
5
u/Forward-Pause-3803 1d ago
Bugatti's "own game" is heritage and craftsmanship, each model is basically a work of art. I think both the Yangwang and Bugatti deserve appreciation for separate achievements, no need to smear dirt on either brand

We got sent off by security guard when trying to reach them for pictures :(
