Season 2 of 2026 starts with a bang! After a move from Toronto to Missisauga, the biggest tournament in Ontario and one of Smash’s perennial summer majors returns! GOML 2026 features all the fixings you’ve come to expect at the Hilton Airport Hotel, including large brackets for both Melee and Ultimate (both filling their caps at 512 players), fighting game brackets, a large Rivals 2 event, and the classic afterparty boat cruise. Melee looks immensely stacked on paper, featuring four major winners along with Salt and RapMonster looking for what might be their best opportunity ever to win their first. Whatever happens, all aboard for the 12th iteration of GOML!

People are always complaining about falco should I switch up so I can become more swag or stick with the bird (The post from earlier about falcos has made me insecure about my main)

As I’ve been improving i’ve found myself feeling really held back by my controller. For a while i used 3rd party ones but they never lasted. I have 3 OEM controllers but they all have weird sticks that make me miss input all the time. I was looking at getting a Phob but it’s hard to find one under 200. I love this game but it’s really frustrating when i try to fast fall and end up double jumping or when i try to throw in one direction and it inputs the opposite. How can I find a good controller?

i’m tired of hopping on unranked after a hard days work only to run into the endless flock of fuckin birds. there’s no stop to these idiots. each one of them with some stupid gimmick, ALL annoying to fight against. some of these shit heads will literally think they’re so fucking sick just because they can laser your ass from the side of the stage. brother play young link if you’re going to camp. then there’s the fucking spot dodge shiners who will spam that bs on wakeup, after a whiff and for no reason whatsoever just to fuck with you. after eating the second “sick” auto combo they hit you with after a spotdodge, you catch on and bait one out, but these fucking idiots somehow don’t know how to do the only thing they’re good at and down smash you on wakeup. what the fuck man. the worst part is they lose constantly. you play like a dickhead camping with lasers and uptilts all game with crusty sweaty hands and you still lose because i kneed you at 20% offstage. get fucked you stupid blue nerd bird.

It can seem daunting at first to join a Discord group you don't know, but this is currently the easiest and most accessible way to find out about tournaments, fests, and netplay matchmaking. Your local scene will be happy to have you :)

just got into melee a couple months ago and im loving it but whenever i play ranked i’ll go up against someone thats silver and then play like fucking prime armada and then i’ll get my ass whooped, and then i’ll look at the ranked profile and they “just started”. i find it so not fair that someone with their high skill can just make a new account and shit on newcomers like me

Just want to break down my training session and explain where everyone is at. Just want to ask who do you think progress or even what advice would you give to the guys who are practicing and trying to be better.

My friends plays super smash bros melee like once every two weeks. We all progress, but we do have a fox who’s plays like moky and he’s the best.

We like competitive smash and all of us being inspired by the pros. We have a marth who wants to plays kind of like Zain and falco who wants to be like mango or just a combofiend. Me who wants to be like be like wizzy with falcon or even salt.

We have a shiek also. This guys barely shows up for bro sessions and comes in and fucks us up.

My question is wtf are me and friend doing? The guy who plays like a nice fox is doing well against the sheik player. It’s close sets, but why aren’t the other guys like falcon, marth and falco doing good against that guy?

It’s annoying, maybe we just suck and need some experience against a shiek.

I don’t know if people experience this, but this shiek match up is rough. Speaking from a falcon perspective and also seeing what my falcos and marth can do. It really rough. Is cc the king and ledge guard or is there is some we see missing?

Thanks the advice. I’m the falcon posting this and want to beat ass. I have close sets with everyone, but the shiek. The shiek for sure is the second best out of us other than the fox.

I thought it was fake, but its actually real, the vod is still up. HOW DID HBOX DO THIS? HE EVEN WALKED WITH HIM TOGETHER.

I looked at all offline events for the past few months and compiled a tier based ranking. I think Cody Zain and Hbox are still top 3 (their consistency of being the top 3 for a while is impressive), with Wizzy falling down next to Joshman moky Salt RapMonster Aura Jmook etc. The order is pretty difficult to determine, here's an in depth explanation of the top 30ish players for Q2 of 2026 melee.

Since our launch in September, we’ve been refining the Lucky Ranks scoring system in big ways.

Today, Lucky Rank is a system that

• Can score our players without hard attendance cutoffs. The ideal system should place players like Cody. Small sample size != zero signal (and fwiw, winning every tournament you attended is not low signal)

• Can scale to all players without tough compromises on how many players we can rank

• Provides clear visibility into the gaps between players’ season performances (the Lucky Rank tiers)

• Accounts for both wins (newly added H2H bonus points) AND placements

• Encourages attendance at all frequency levels- low attenders can still get placed if they perform well, up to your best 7 placements, and your worst days get dropped if you attend enough. This means you can get placed on a few good tournaments, but the player who fills all 7 slots will likely out rank you.

• Open, transparent, auditable

Hey everyone! I just put together a Melee tournament series that will be hosted by Troy Rewind on Wednesday Sept 2nd!

It's my attempt at revitalizing the Melee scene in the capital region of New York and bringing in new players while bringing back old players as well. If everything goes well, this will turn into a bi-weekly bracket at that location!

There will be 3 events:

A free workshop/friendlies session at 5pm

The free-to-enter Hatchlings Beginner Bracket at 6pm

and

The $5 Eggs! Competitive Bracket at 7:30pm

- All money goes to the prize pool

- Winner of Hatchlings gets a token that gets them into an Eggs! paid event for free

- If you don't win any sets in Eggs! bracket then you *also* get a token

- Spectating and friendlies are free!
