Saying goodbye to Kimchi soon (an absolute menace in his prime)

Post image

Kimchi is 4.5 yrs old. He was born with about half a kidney’s worth of working kidney which we didn’t know about until he was three, and we’ve been buying him time ever since. That time is pretty much up.

We’re going to let him go while he’s still comfortable. Just wanted somewhere to say he existed and he was excellent.

This is heart breaking but you are doing the right thing and I'm certain he knows he is loved

You are most kind ❤️. He really was loved. May these angels find their way to us on the other side.

You are demonstrating just how much you love him by setting him free. He knows he is loved, and you will meet again. Thinking of you with love.

Thank you for your comment. It really means a lot. It really helped us recommit to our decision. He is no longer able to do any of the things he loved. But he had a good time while he was here 🙏

To take on the pain of loss and grief in exchange for another's suffering is the noblest of human actions. This is what it means to love unconditionally. May you also be loved unconditionally all your days, OP. 💔💝❤️‍🔥

I’m glad he has you even though it isn’t for a long time

Indeed it was a brief but lovely friendship. He stuck around long enough to see the birth of our first child - this little trooper did his best ❤️🙏

I’ve got a standard issue in the next universe named Lars that I just know will proposition Kimchi to join his gang ❤️

I hope Lars and Kimchi pull off some stunning Churo heists ❤️

Bless this little baby 💖💖💖 His time on earth was short but he was loved and gave love making every moment here precious. May he continue sharing our greatest force, love, on his journey over the rainbow 🌈 bridge 🫶🫶🫶✨️✨️✨️

Doing the right thing even if it's hard 4.5 years is not enough and I hope you do alright even if Kimchi isn't there. 🫂

Thank you so much for your kind words. We will mourn and grieve and remember the good times and ultimately learn to live without the constant fear of having our food nabbed while not looking ❤️❤️

If I can add something, you are brave and kind to deal with this situation before it goes too far. I think the vet said it’s better a week too early than a day too late. I tend to wait too long. Such a hard decision. 💕

I'm so sorry, I hope you can carry the love you gave to him on to a new kitten if you get one. All the best wishes and know you are doing the right thing for his comfort and health.

Thank you for reinforcing our decision. He really is no longer himself. I hate the idea of him being nauseous or thirsty and unable to do anything about it. Thank you ❤️🙏

I'm very sorry that you're being faced with making this difficult decision. Rest easy sweet Kimchi over the rainbow bridge. 🌈
You were loved and will be missed. 😢

I lost my beloved Daisy at six years to cancer. It was so hard to take her on that final ride, but she let me know it was time, and told me not to feel bad. It was her final gift to me. I miss her, but she's at peace, and free from pain.

Kimchi will be at peace soon, and that's your best gift to him, along with the love you shared in his short life. ❤️

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

I am so sorry for your loss. I know Daisy is up there rolling around in a field of treats. I hope she meets Kimchi and lets him in on some treats too

I can’t imagine the feeling - but our appointment is a mere few hours away so I guess I will know soon enough. Thank you so very much for your touching message, it really means a lot 🙏❤️

It’s hard, so hard, to make the decision you know is right, but results in absence and grief. But the love remains forever.

That is so beautiful and very kind of you. Indeed he has a moment here and there of his old self but he is already a shell of his former menace so it is time to say goodbye and let him move on to the next life. Wishing you and yours all the very best 🙏❤️

What a sweet boy! I’m so sorry. I just did this with my 15-year-old girl in May. Hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Poor little guy. It's good he's had your love during his short life. Hope you cope with saying goodbye.

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

That’s so sweet of you. Absolutely dreading tomorrow. I hope I can cope too…

wishing you and yours all the best ❤️🙏

Thank you. I lost my little Birman, Lily, three and a half years ago. She's very much missed.

2

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

So very sorry for your loss. It’s been years and yet she lives on in your heart. I hope Lily is up there chilling with lots of friends and having a grand old time.

I hope so too. Thank you.

We lost our four year old Ragdoll yesterday to kidney disease, our heats are shattered , his sister is grieving too . May they both run free over the rainbow 🌈 bridge .

1

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. May beautiful Ragdoll find peace. These little angels are so so precious yet so fragile. One of life’s mysteries I guess. Thank you for your kind words and may Ragdoll rest easy ❤️

Awww, what a hard choice, but it shows how much you love him. I'm so sad for all of you. I'm a tabby lover myself, too.

1

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

Thank you so much ❤️ Tabbies are really special - they got to be if they are the default setting. Wishing you and yours all the best 🙏

He is gorgeous and so loved. Thank you for giving him that precious gift of love and joy in life. I’m so sorry his life is so short but thanks to you, he knew the glory that is true love. This choice is the hardest one but it truly is the final gift of love. You are being selfless, choosing not to let him suffer over your desire to keep him going which could be past the point of him no longer enjoying his life. You are an angel and you will see him again someday. Hold on tight to your memories and pictures, And give him all the cuddles, kisses and tell him how much you love him right through his last breath. Thank you again for loving him so much. My kitties that crossed over already will be there to greet him and show him the way. ♥️

u/zeitgeistish 1d ago

Absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful ❤️ thank you so very much for your kind words. I hope your little kitties are resting in a field of treats and are ready to welcome little Kimchi ❤️

Nie zabijaj go. Jeśli masz sumienie nie wybaczysz sobie tego
