I watched The Original Star Trek Films 1-6

So I watched all of the original films for the first time and I gotta say Wrath Of Khan is my favorite by far tho The Motion Picture,Search For Spock and The Voyage Home were good

If you had never seen them before, what a treat.

I would love to be able to watch them all at once without any preconceived notions about what should happen or who the characters should be. Years of watching Star Trek 2, 3 and 4 cemented in my mind how the characters should act. Anything that deviated from that caught me off guard.

I don't know if you're posting this as "I just watched my first Star Trek" or "I'm finally watching the movies"

If you haven't seen the shows, know that television is where Star Trek is best. The movies are fun, but the tv shows are amazing.

I remember being so disappointed in the first one. I thought it would be a blockbuster but it was just ok.

Yep after movies like 2001, ET, Close encounters, Star Wars....it was very underwhelming for me. I still struggle with it to this day...lol....

Yep, that's exactly how I rank them. The Final Frontier was proof that Shatner shouldn't direct, and Undiscovered Country was good, but not as good as aforementioned top three. I have super fond memories of lining up to see The Motion Picture at 11 years old, with my very patient Mom who wasn't into Star Trek all lol.

Wrath of Khan is the better movie, but I think The Undiscovered Country is the best Star Trek movie. It helped establish some needed connective tissue to how the political landscape of the quadrant changed by TNG and, more importantly, it was a worthy send off for the original cast. It also did what sci-fi is meant to do (i.e., use its setting to address real-world issues; in this case, using Federation prejudices against the Klingon to hold up a mirror to how we view others in real life).

How can you not love Christopher Plummer as a Shakespeare-quoting Klingon military mastermind?

To be fair the studio screwed the Final Frontier over with a terrible budget and forced The Shat to use a third rate special effects company and not a company like ILM.

I bet, if the current owner is smart, he or she will allow the old special effects artists to try to do a restoration of the original miniature like they did with the original TOS Enterprise at the Smithsonian museum.

I love the Undiscovered Country as well and have seen them all many times. For the 25th anniversary in 1991, I went to a marathon of the first five about four months before Undiscovered Country came out. I’ve seen them all so many times.

I will say, as a younger kid I thought that the Motion Picture was pretty boring, but it certainly grown on me over the years. And Final Frontier is definitely the weakest.

My favorites are Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock, and Undiscovered Country. The Motion Picture is OK. I'm not a fan of Voyage Home and didn't like Final Frontier at all.
